“The overall experience was good, the staff were polite and friendly. The only issue was the wait time. I registered online ahead of time and scheduled an appointment to avoid having to sit there because of the weakness. I ended up sitting & waiting there for over an hour before the provider could see me. I was feeling extremely weak and had no strength to sit, the wait time only made it worse for me.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail provided during my visit. I had made a routine comment that I was slightly hard of hearing, and didn’t think anything of it.
At the visit I noticed that the Frances Paley, NP used a face mask with a clear window over where her mouth was. I made the comment how it was nice that I could see her mouth so I could better understand the words she was saying, as it was generally tough for me (.. like during Covid) to hear/undertand people…to which she surprisingly “thanked me for sharing earlier” as she unbeknownst to me….had proactively selected a mask to help me.

It made my whole day, and was a experience I will always remember.

“I am shocked by the negative reviews here! I completed my 3rd visit with Newton Wellesley Dermatology yesterday, each with Ms. Marya Woodruff Ochs who I highly recommend. My first visit was for an annual body skin check where a biopsy was performed on a suspicious spot and thankfully negative. The next two visits were for cosmetic purposes, specifically the freezing of sun spots on my face. I returned because I was so very pleased with the dramatic results of the first visit. I was told the reason the accompanying person if staying is asked to wear a mask is : The staff do not need to wear a mask unless they have had a recent exposure. They do not want to ‘quiz ‘ your ride so they are asked to wear a mask.“

The best decision I made was choosing Dr. Jan Shifren at Newton Wellesley Hospital.At my initial assessment, Dr. Shifren walked me through every single step of the process and answered all the questions I could come up with. It only takes a quick google search to learn she's internationally recognized as one of the top physicians in her field of expertise and she's been published in more journals than I could count. What a google search doesn't tell you is how truly wonderful she is as a person. Dr. Shifren is so thoughtful, knowledgeable, transparent, upfront and honest. I never felt rushed at our appointments (virtual and in-person) and Dr. Shifren was by my side, from start to finish. She has a truly incredible team of nurses, technicians and administrators who keep you feeling positive throughout the journey and take great care of you at each appointment.After meeting with Dr. Shifren, I worked with her billing department to understand all the financial costs associated with the procedure and they gave me a very easy to understand price breakdown. A few months after our initial appointment it was March of 2022, and I was ready to go. At that time I started working very closely with Zuzana, her incredible nurse who was by my side for the next 2 weeks walking me through the process. Zuzana and her colleagues were very quick to respond to my emails with questions or concerns and always had all the answers right away. Once the process begins, you are going into their office at NWH anywhere from 2-4 times a week for blood draws and ultrasounds. All the ultrasound technicians are great and be sure to get your blood drawn by Grace, she will make your day every time you see her.I felt really taken care of on an emotional and physical level which is what you want and what you need to get through this process. My patient experience could not have been any better and I would highly recommend choosing Dr. Shifren and her team at NWH if you are looking into freezing your eggs.-Melissa“
