“Barrowclough came highly recommended, especially Paul Newman. I had seen his work at a couple homes. It was perfect. When it was time for us to do a major renovation, we invited them to give us a quote with other contractors. We ultimately chose them, although they were not the lowest quote. We chose to leave our home during construction to give them freedom to do their thing. Not only did Paul work quickly and efficiently, but during the job, he called frequently to keep me updated, and he came up with ideas to make the space more usable and modern. Rather than keep 2 old fashioned pantries, he had an idea to pull off the doors and order cabinet frames and doors and extend the kitchen into the hallway. He pulled out the insides and reengineered them to our custom specs. The result was that for minimal cost (hundreds of dollars) we got much more functionality and efficiency. We ended up adding to the kitchen and dining room job. What did we add? We removed popcorn ceiling, painted hallways and stairwell, painted master bath and bedroom, redid two upstairs bathrooms and more. We came home to a new house in April 2021 just as covid is (hopefully) winding down. What a gift Paul is. I'm happy to show the work that Paul and his crew did. He employs the best subcontractors and partners with them to ensure they are working together well. You can't go wrong with Paul and Barrowclough. Paul is a master carpenter. I would give it 5 stars, if I knew where to post that!“

“We had Sterling replace our 25 year old roof in March 2024. Denis was great. He is very personable and friendly. He explained all the options and answered any and all questions we had about the replacement.

His crew and crew chief Mike were outstanding. The dumpster came the morning of the job. They replaced the roof in a day. The dumpster was gone the next day. You would never know they were here. The roof came out great.

The cleanup was impeccable and the yard and driveway were spotless. We have yet to find a nail or or any remnant of the debris.

I would happily use Denis and his team again if we ever needed additional external work done to the house.“

“Where do I begin? First, Peter is a wonderful person to do business with - both he and his wife April, are friendly and professional in an 'old school' way. There is NO 'tail-light guarantee' with this man. He will make sure the job is done and done right. Above and beyond Peter's thorough professionalism, his crew was amazing. I have never witnessed anything like it. Our home is quite large with many different roof levels and steeply pitched areas (3 stories in some areas), skylights and chimney's. It was as mesmerizing as watching a ballet, seeing the way this crew works. Before work began, the whole perimeter of the house was covered with tarps - large windows or screened areas were covered with mesh screening to keep the old roofing materials from hitting them. Once the old roof removal began, discarded materials were promptly scooped up and carted to the dumpster that had been delivered the day before (along with a port-o-potty! Thank you very much!). The old roof was off, the roof decking was prepped and flashed where necessary and new ice/water shield materials (and any etcetera stuff) were installed - I think before lunch! After a brief break, the new shingles began to be installed. Did I mention that some of this crew were women? No? Well, these women worked as hard as every man on the crew of (I think) 11. They were lugging hundreds of pounds of discarded roofing stuff to the dumpster in wheelbarrows. They're the one's that sat on the peaks of the roof, feeding shingle sheets to the men below who were positioning and nailing the sheets into place. The crew members have clearly choreographed a rhythm and pace that works efficiently and to watch it was fascinating. No one on the crew was ever just standing around. A big job that was expected to take 2 or maybe 3 days was primarily done in one day (one small porch roof had to wait 'til the next morning). At the end of day one, everything was collected, tarps cleared of debris and folded away, ladders removed. Except for the dumpster (which will be picked up later) it was like no one had been here. They even went over the perimeter of the house and the driveway with magnetic 'brooms' to collect and/or make sure there were no errant nails anywhere that could cause harm or flat tires. Over 31 years here, we've dealt with a lot of different contractors for this and that... some that we'd like to forget entirely. That is NOT the case with North Shore Roofing. Peter, April and his crew are *hands-down* the BEST home maintenance/repair experience we have *ever* had. I can't recommend him enough and would hire him again in a nanosecond. Our new roof looks beautiful and the whole experience went so smoothly and was completed 100% as promised. Additionally, Peter guarantees his workmanship. Thank you, Peter. “Mario, Tony, and the team did a fantastic job on my roof replacement and attic vent installation. It only took them one day from setup to finish and they were very meticulous in their clean up.

They even sent me pictures of a small crack at the top of my chimney and let me know that it should be looked at by a mason in the near future. Thanks to Mario's advisement, I got it checked out and fixed.

They repaired the steeple roof on my old Victorian mansion — a job most roofers wouldn’t touch — and even ordered a custom shingle color to make it “pop.” Mike, one of the owners, was onsite for this “smaller” job, which says a lot about their commitment.
