“Jim did a great job upgrading a rental condo I plan to put on the market. It’s the 2d floor of a triple-decker built in 1900, so there were challenges. When he took out the bathroom ceiling fan to replace it with a whisper fan, he discovered there was no exhaust to the outside (!) He climbed a 32’ ladder outside to get to the bathroom, sawed a 4.5” hole for the exhaust, and then added a duct and vent hood. He also swapped out very outdated ceiling fans with new remote-operated ones with lights; he replaced all the recessed ceiling bulbs with LEDs; he replaced a ceiling fan in the kitchen (apparently a code violation) with a flush ceiling light; he replaced switches and faceplates; and he replaced a rusty Hollywood light strip above the medicine cabinet in the bathroom with a new one. He communicated well and often, asking if he should pick various features or if I preferred to buy them myself. He’s very good at texting photos with questions. I asked Jim for advice on other things, like whether I should replace the windows. (He said no. I agreed.) If he felt a change suggested by my realtor would not be worth the money, he told me. Or if he could suggest a simple solution he did. (For example, instead of installing a 3-floor motion-sensor light system, he suggested I buy rechargeable battery-powered motion-sensor lights and put them on the stairs myself. Great idea!) He was prompt and professional, and his prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend him!”
