485 Great Rd, Acton“Turning 60 was a big milestone for me with a planned retirement, cycling trips and more leisure time on my line up. What I did not expect was a sudden non traumatic knee injury that would stop me in my tracks, cause me unbelievable pain and prevent me from doing almost anything that involved my legs including going up and down stairs, walking for any distance, driving....you name it.
I did all the things that I thought would help: Iced it, rested it, used NSAIDS and spent hundreds on various knee braces. Three months went by with zero improvement. I felt old and demoralized and was absolutely sure that this was going to be my new life. It was devastating.
My sister, a physical therapist, recommended that I meet with Dr. McGovern and see if he could help me. She heard that he recently had started using Shockwave and had seen good results. I figured, what the heck?
Kevin did a movement assessment and evaluation of my knee, and we started both the Shockwave therapy, and exercises to strengthen my muscles which had apparently atrophied over years of sitting at a computer for work.
The results have been life changing! I am back to cycling 30+ miles daily on the weekends, walking several times a week on rugged terrain and doing water aerobics 3-4 days a week. I've lost 30 pounds and feel younger than I have in years. I continue to see Kevin a couple of times a month to ensure that I maintain my gains and continue to improve, using Shockwave as a means of ensuring that I don't develop similar problems in the future.
Kevin's approach of individualized instruction, utilizing multiple therapies concomitantly, and giving me tools to strengthen my other muscles to prevent future injuries has been a real game changer for me. I am looking forward to an active and enjoyable retirement that I was truly worried was going to be impossible for me just a few months ago.
I highly recommend Dr. McGovern! He helped me get my life back!“

Dhruti was my therapist for the latest sets of visits due to hip pain. We started very slowly with stretching movements and have now worked up to strengthening exercises. I am now pain free. Dhruti is encouraging, positive, and easy to work with. I won’t hesitate to visit again should the need arise.“

59 Stiles Rd Suite 106, Salem“I couldn’t say enough positive things about PTC. We started in the Manchester office and loved our team so much we followed them. Kelsey, Meaghan, Emily, and Alex are such wonderful therapists and we are so lucky to have them in our village. Even though our son has graduated PT, Meaghan still follows up with us and checks in with him before or after sessions just to see if there’s anything she can help with, and to make sure he’s still set up for success. Our boy couldn’t even jump up with two feet and her hard work and expertise had him exceeding all his milestones during the last PT evaluation. Kelsey has attended countless IEP meetings with us, has answered emails with tons of our questions, has made herself available to us for any and all meetings we need her guidance or wisdom on, and continues to strengthen our sons speech and articulation, where we came to her borderline nonverbal. She is SO educated and really sets the bar high for all the students she takes under her wing. Alex and Emily are so patient and knowledgeable with our sons sensory needs, and has also attended meetings with the school to help bridge the gap between fine motor skills being the focus in a public school setting, and offers insight on things that can be done in a classroom setting to help keep him regulated and ready to attend to his work. Emily and Alex’s have helped our son learn how to draw shapes, and letters and has worked so hard on getting him to legibly write his name. There are not many outpatient services for children with special needs or who need some extra help mastering speech, or other skills, but PTC picks up the slack with their top notch facilities. So proud to be a PTC family!“
