I used to get my clothes altered at a fancy place on Newbury St. but I still had hit or miss experiences with having the waist taken in on pants. I’m really impressed with the job they did here. “Only 1 week to a big event at my home and I realized how dirty and dingy our chair slip covers were. I called a dry cleaner I used previously and they said 2 weeks minimum. I called Beach Bluff cleaners and they said they could have them done in a week. Not only did they have them ready a day early, they looked amazing .....and the gentlemen there showed me a small tear from wear that he fixed at no charge. ...and they were super nice. “So, being slightly over-zealous, I ordered my Halloween costume on eBay (yes, a month and a half in advance) and when it came it smelled a little like plastic and a lot like smoke. "New with Tags" should have had an asterik that said *and stored in a tobacco factory. That's besides the point...I digress. My costume needed a serious cleaning and a boost, so I did a quick Google search of the closest dry cleaner to me. I work inside the Prudential, so much to my delight I found that we had a dry cleaners right in the sub-level of the main building. I grabbed my costume and headed downstairs. The lady didn't blink an eye when she informed me that in the 1 1/2 years she's worked at the cleaner's, no one has ever brought in a costume (she was sweet and didn't judge me on my choice of costume...or its length...or lack thereof) and she wasn't sure how to charge me. She went ahead and put my name into the system and charged me the cost of a regular old dress ($14.00) and then...miracle upon miracles...she tells me that as a new customer, I get 50% off my first order! Yay! She promised to call me if there was a mix-up in how she was supposed to charge a costume as opposed to the dress, but assured me that if I didn't hear from her, it was fine. Today, I went in and picked up my perfectly pressed, clean cotton scented costume and it looks great! All for $7.24. What a bargain!“
