Optometrists in Baton Rouge

“I have been using Achord since we moved to Baton Rouge 19 years ago. The doctors are great and the staff friendly. BUT… they use an app for their contact lens orders called Marlo. The app has to be updated through the office if you call in the order. I order contacts from Achord every 3-6 months. My orders on the Marlo app has not been updated since 2023! This is frustrating since they send texts and emails stating to go through the app to see the progress and tracking of the order. Even though the sweet girl who answered the phone and told me last week that she would talk to the girl who needs to make the updates for my most current order, I still had to call today to get the tracking number because it’s still not updated. DONT ASK US TO USE AN APP THAT YOU DO NOT MAKE A PRIORITY TO UPDATE! This should be part of your everyday job duties - make sure all orders are updated. Very frustrated!!“

“Brought my frames here to get lenses placed. I was greated right as I walked in, even as the worker was helping another customer. The store has a desk for two people, but she was the only person in the shop. As I waited, I could tell she was very friendly and willing to take her time with her customers. She was helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. She did tell me that she doesn't work here most days, she was just filling in. I was happy I was able to ger lenses placed in frames not bought here. When asked how long it would take, I was kind of surprised when she told me 2 weeks. At past optical shops, I would usually get them back within a week. Overall, I was happy with my experience.“

“Of the many Baton Rouge area optometrists whose care I have received, Dr. Duong is outstanding. I saw Dr. Doing after getting glasses made at Costco using a prescription from another provider, that were evidently the wrong prescription as I could not see clearly with them.
I walked in to their clinic and the front desk staffer quickly worked me in for an exam. They checked my new glasses and confirmed that they had been made as specified by the previous provider’s prescription.
Dr. Duong’s exam yielded a much different prescription. He explained some factors that can lead to incorrect prescriptions for people who are very nearsighted.
Costco re-made the glasses using Dr. Duong’s prescription and now I see clearly. I will go back to Dr. Duong for my next annual eye exam.

Many patients suffer from Glaucoma, and the EXTREME BRIGHT NATURAL LIGHT makes navigating the office difficult.“
