“Wow, I can’t believe I never left a review. Terry was the only person who did my hair for 20 years. I’m pretty sure she did my first haircut as a toddler. She did my prom hair and encouraged every new style I wanted to try. Including shaving half my head when I was 18 (much to my mom’s chagrin.) I moved across the country when I left for college in 2014 and it took me a very long time to find a salon in my area that lived up to Salon Del Lago. Cannot recommend enough.“

“OK, I don't have all the hair I did even 15 years ago, but I love talented professionals who view life none-too-seriously, but still take their craft to heart. Hence, my barber (sorry Alicja, HAIRSTYLIST!) whom I have followed everywhere she's been in the last decade or more. A nicer individual you will NEVER meet and hopefully you will have the sense to utilize her amazing skills with the scissors and other tools of her trade.Great colorist (I see the results - but do NOT use!) and her secret is that she is trained as a MEN'S Barber as well. The shop owner, Bilyana, is a sharp & beautiful woman who had the great sense to give Alicja a home after the Covid crisis decimated small businesses and rents everywhere.I can tell you that this salon has everything you'll want and need in a beautiful little indoor arcade within a tragically underused shopping mall on the GoldCoast of Kenilworth/Wilmette right on the lakefront. Parking is literally right outside their back door unless you want to visit the other businesses in Plaza del Lago (my review elsewhere on it).-- a great idea of itself. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED“

“We took our daughter for her 1st haircut and it was such a great experience. Walking into this location was so fun. It’s like a toy store but salon. From the beginning all the staff were kind and inviting. They have tablets for kids to be entertained and still. They talk through everything with you and make you feel at home. Ms. Rose made us feel like family.. she talked with us and related with her granddaughter. I felt completely at ease with my daughter getting her haircut. She listened to what I wanted and even styled her hair beautifully at the end. We received a certificate and photo of our daughter which was a sweet momento of the milestone. I would definitely recommend this location and Ms. Rose. We will definitely be going back. Thank you.“
