His crew was in and out of our house in under 8 hours for kitchen cabinets, fireplace brick, another brick wall, misc. patching and painting and removing wallpaper. “Mahogany renovated a bathroom and entryway for us. Their work was of extremely high quality. The project finished in roughly the estimated time frame even with some changes made to the plans throughout the process. It was an expensive project, but when it comes to home renovations, you get what you pay for. That being the case, we didn’t mind paying a bit of a premium for good quality work. Two workers were assigned to our project and were on site every day. They were respectful of our space, showed up on time every day, and communicated updates to us consistently along the way. I would highly recommend mahogany and plan to use them in the future!“

“I had such a wonderful experience working with Habitar in updating my kitchen. Everyone I worked with was professional and committed to the project. The finished product is exactly as I was hoping for.I was looking for help in giving my kitchen a refresh by painting the cabinets and replacing the fixtures and backsplash. I wanted to work with a design firm that could incorporate modern elements into my dated kitchen without having to replace countertops or cabinets. I reached out to several interior design firms in Chicago but most turned me down because my project was not large enough for them. However Habitar, despite the project being smaller than most they accept, was willing to do the work! Mitch, the owner, explained that he was sure I will have bigger projects in the future and that once I work with them on this small project, I will be sure to come back for the bigger ones.MacKenzie, the designer, took the time to listen to what I was hoping to do and she had a bunch of ideas without overwhelming me with options. Patrycja, the project coordinator, worked with me to get the project to meet my budget and was consistently responsive throughout the work. Sarah and her team were meticulous with the tile on the backsplash as well as with the fixtures and cabinetry (and so sweet with my curious cat who wanted to supervise all the action). The painting team was skillful and were prompt with the touch-ups that are inevitable during the first few weeks after a project. At the end of the project, the team made it clear that all their work is under warranty for one year and that I should reach out with any concerns at all.The Habitar team made the whole design and construction process as easy as it could be. I'm really happy with how the kitchen turned out and with the communication along the way. Mitch is correct that I will be reaching out to Habitar again for future projects.“

“This was a really fascinating and post-pandemic way to showcase gorgeous newly made watches. Microlux was a free 2-day gathering of top world class watchmakers who gathered in 900 North Michigan. I only knew a handful of watchmakers before this, but this was a whole new world! the watches were heavy, maybe because they are wound up instead of using batteries. It was a small-ish space with tables, and around 2pm on Saturday free small cocktails were served. Chatting with watchmakers up close was fascinating. This is a great use of the space in this mall, instead of just another overpriced or high end store.They have more events coming up, which are not necessarily free, so please check carefully.“
“We were extremely lucky to have discovered Himsben Design Studio, LLC through a friend who used them for her front patio. Since we needed our back patio/yard area redone from the original design that was 30 years old, we've also used them for our front landscaping, new concrete front steps and brick pavers by driveways, retaining wall, and this year a new deck!! They are very hands on, responsive, and worked with our budget and answered our many questions. They never balked when we asked for an adjustment to plans and gave us plenty of warning when workers were coming. The folks who do the actual work are also incredible - I couldn't believe it could look so good after the demo mess!! They not only completely the projects on time but cleaned up and left us with incredible outdoor spaces that we love. Also, they were prepared to plant non-toxic plants so that our pets who spend time outdoors would be safe. I wish I could use them more often!Services: Landscape design“

“Perfect interior paint job. Great guys. Can't imagine having a better experience. I bought a 3-flat and moved into the top-floor. The walls were bubbling in places, dirty, and hadn't been painted in years. I thought about painting it myself, but thought better of it because it looked like I'd have to do every room. Anyway, I didn't want to pay a lot, but I also didn't want a shit job done--I would be living in the place for at least a few years. A friend recommended these guys. They came out to give us a consultation on the colors right away. I thought they did a great job of using our suggestions without letting us make aweful decisions. I think that's probably a pretty difficult thing to pull off; you wouldn't expect painters to have that much tact. Long story short, the colors they helped us pick out were perfect. They did a perfect job in about a day, and they probably gave us the best price we came across. I haven't worked with a lot of painters, but I can't imagine things going better. They might not do huge commercial jobes but for our purposes (3-bedroom 1200sf condo) they were incredible.“
