We were able to get an estimate scheduled for the next day. All 3 residents of complex were given seperate estimates based upon square footage covering their townhouse. Components of roof...decking (sheathing), underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, flashing, the main roofing material (like shingles), ridge cap (for the peak), and roof vents, fasteners (nails, screws) and schedule of installation was all discussed with all 3 potential customers. Price was varied as expected. Job was completed without difficulty. Jimmy was very conscientious about work procedure, our properties, and clean up during and at the finish of job. “We worked with Ethan who was recommended to us by someone trusted. He was great with timely communication and answered our questions through the process. After all is said and done, the roof appears to be done well, and the crew redid a few sections we could tell were not done right. Skylights also appear to have been installed well. Ethan noticed a gutter the crew damaged and replaced it at no additional cost to us. The crew, however, was not the most professional. We were told our landscaping would be protected via plywood on saw horses, windows would be covered to prevent damage, and the clean up process would make our yard look "like no one was ever there." This was NOT the case. We had some damaged plants, which Ethan offered to replace if they didn't bounce back, ripped screens, scraped window glass, and partially ripped off siding. Ethan is covering the siding repairs that another contractor will perform and covered the cost for Ace to fix the screens. Frustrating extra work for all and could have easily been prevented with a little preparation work. The crew also did not fully tarp the roof/seal skylights overnight for the 2 day job. Thank goodness it didn't rain or storm.. Lastly, we spent time picking up a small garbage bag full of nails, shingles, plastic, cigarette butts, and other debris from all around the house. This includes pulling nails out of our hosta leaves and the bottom of our shoes.. Definitely noticeable that work was done. It was clear to us that Ethan was willing to partner with us to resolve the issues we experienced. The process was less smooth than we would have hoped.Services: Roof installation“

“I have had the pleasure of working with John Gallagher, owner, of Exterior Designers, Inc. (EDI) several time over the past twenty years. I first met John as a young new homeowner. We needed a roof and also were in the market to replace the outdated aluminum siding. I always begin a job with at least three estimates, and we were working within a budget. EDI was not the least expensive but was the only company whose owner (John) came out and explained what was needed and what was not. While the other estimates were eager to make the most of our service call, John suggested getting a layer placed over the original roof at a less expensive cost to us. He also advised it would probably last about seven to ten years. Additionally, while other contractors tried selling us high end siding (cedar), John explained that while cedar would look nice, it comes with a lot of maintenance and in reality, the neighborhood tended towards vinyl. Again, he could have talked us into a more expensive choice, especially since my taste and budget is not always in sync, however, he did not. He steered us towards the more economical choice. Our layover roof lasted 19 years without even one leak! That's great craftmanship. And my siding looks as new as it did when we first had it applied. This summer when I decided to replace the roof in its entirety, I called upon John to do the job. Again, he came out and explained all the options. He does not attempt to sell the best product as many contractors do. Rather, he listened to what I wanted and steered me towards a mid-range quality roof with the architectural shingles I desired, while working within my budget. I highly recommend EDI as they are an honest, trustworthy business who provides quality work. I give them an A+. Thanks, John Gallagher, for another wonderful home improvement experience!!!“
