“I would like to thank the wonderful Jaylene who coordinated with the equally dedicated Audi technicians to resolve the camera issues that plagued my Q8. If the technician hadn't noticed the fault at the time of my Q8's service I would have been extremely annoyed if I had experienced the problem after collecting the car. In order to fix the fault they had to liaise with Audi Europe and it took them over 2 weeks to resolve the problem, during that time they had to order new wiring and camera's etc to rectify the issue. Since that time I have only experienced one glitch with the camera's which resolved itself the next time I used the car.

I have 3 other complaints about the Q8's software.

1). Bluetooth connectivity is intermittent, it will either connect my iPhone(s) immediately or I have to wait between 5min to 20min into a journey before it establishes a connection (Music or a Podcast starts playing automatically). If it takes longer than 20min it never establishes a Bluetooth connection.

2). Audi Lane Assist feature turns itself on intermittently when starting the car which is extremely frustrating. I can turn it off.

3). Audi Auto Start/Stop feature does not stay disabled when I turn it off. It switches back on the next time I start the car.“

“I want to share a heartfelt thank-you to the Tesla Service Center on Elston and especially Service Manager Kevin Dowling.

I came in as a walk-in with two passenger-side tires torn on the sidewall after hitting a pothole—in the middle of a brutal Chicago cold snap (we’ve been dealing with negative 20-degree temperatures). I had no appointment, but Kevin treated it like what it was: a genuine safety issue. He accepted me immediately and got the team moving when I really needed help.

The Elston team truly went above and beyond. They didn’t just replace the two damaged tires—they also rotated the tires, replaced my windshield wipers, and even cleaned the interior Tesla camera, all while I was dealing with a situation that could have turned dangerous fast. Two sidewall failures on the same side of a vehicle is not something to gamble with. Their urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail gave me real peace of mind.

This experience reinforced why I chose Tesla in the first place. Over time I’ve genuinely felt taken care of by people across the Tesla ecosystem in Chicago—from Russell and Matt at the Gold Coast sales location when I bought my 2025 Model 3 Highland, to Kevin and Austin at the Des Plaines service center, and now Kevin and the team at Elston. Seeing familiar faces and consistent professionalism says a lot.

Lastly, for anyone driving in Chicago: I have the Tesla Wheel & Tire Protection Plan, and I can say firsthand it’s worth it. In a city with potholes like ours, the monthly cost is a small price to pay compared to what this could have cost out of pocket.

Based on today’s experience, I would absolutely choose the Elston Service Center again with complete confidence, and I’d recommend them without hesitation. Thank you again to Kevin Dowling and everyone at the Elston Service Center for treating me like a priority, taking the safety situation seriously, and delivering service that exceeded expectations.
