Since my son started training here, we have seen a big improvement in his confidence, discipline, and respect. The master always creates a positive, welcoming, and encouraging environment. We are very grateful to be part of this academy and highly recommend it to any family looking for an excellent Tae Kwon Do program. They are also a bilingual program.“

281 Peterson Rd, Libertyville“Northshore Academy of Martial Arts(Libertyville) has been an absolute game-changer for our family. Everyone at the dojo is wonderful, creating such a warm and supportive environment. The senseis are incredibly compassionate and patient, serving as outstanding mentors who truly care about each child’s growth.
Owner Marc is amazing as he brings over four decades of deep knowledge and unwavering dedication to the sport, inspiring everyone who walks through the door.
I have seen a remarkable transformation in my two sons with genuine discipline, boosted confidence, and a new sense of focus that carries over into every part of their lives.
Sensei Alex, who runs the program, stands out for his genuine interest in every student. He takes the time to teach the important details and helps each child improve at their own pace.
We highly recommend Nsama, especially for busy working parents with their flexible, wide open schedule makes it easy to stay consistent and bring your children. This is more than martial arts, it’s character building at its best!“

The next one is at 5, and the final 1 is at 6. They added a few extra belts, normal Taekwondo, and this is my st time trying out taikwando because when I looked at videos of regular Taekwondo, it was showing there were only levels, this has9.“

1854 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake“My daughter has been part of Master Kim’s Taekwondo for more than a year now, and she truly enjoys it so much. She started when she had just turned four, and this October she will be turning six. She has had so much fun with all the different activities and experiences along the way.
Master Kim is an excellent instructor who genuinely cares for his students and creates a positive, engaging environment for them to learn and grow. As parents, we also really enjoy watching the classes—so much so that sometimes it makes us want to participate ourselves.
We also appreciate Master Kim’s helpers, especially Patrick. He is a great kid, always kind and helpful, and we’re always happy to see him there.
I wholeheartedly recommend Master Kim’s Taekwondo to any family looking for a fun, supportive, and enriching activity for their child.“
“Great program, we loved how Justin and staff spoke to the kids about respect, hard work, bullying, and sticking up for others.“

Great Lakes Aikido offers regular seminars such as weapons workshops and Midwest Future Leaders seminars offering teachings and perspectives from a variety of instructors. There is a nice camaraderie among the instructors and the students at Great Lakes. Matt Lowry Sensei brings over 30 years of Aikido experience and the classes suit all experience levels.“

“It's difficult to express how much our family is grateful for Ki Martial Arts.
I enrolled my daughter at 3.5 y when she started showing some signs of ADHD. She's now a 3rd degree black belt and honor roll student. My younger daughter just got her 1st degree black belt and it has been such a great life experience for her, I loved seeing her truly experience the process of working hard for something and achieving it.
Both my daughters go to Ki's afterschool and summer camps. I am extremely paranoid about trusting anyone with my children. Ki is one of the few places/people I actually trust my children with. First, it's a real family business: The father is the Grand Master, the mother is a PhD in behavioral psychology and heads the afterschool and summer camp programs, and their children are in the programs, with their eldest daughter now a head instructor. The classes are fun yet structured, and there are a ton of non-martial arts lessons such as manners and life lessons. The summer camp is great value, and the kids go on lots of field trips, outdoor park time, and other activities, and their safety procedures are rigorous enough to keep paranoid moms like me at ease!
I was inspired to enroll myself after my daughter earned her one of her black belts, and now have my third degree too. It has been a wonderful experience for improving health and athleticism, gaining confidence, and helping with adult ADHD. I have met a wonderful group of friends in the adult classes.“
