Dermatologists near Glencoe

“Not sure why this place doesn’t have over 4 stars. I’ve been going for almost 4 years for cosmetic treatments and I honestly wouldn’t trust another doctor with my face at this point. From reception to the health team, they’re all really nice. Sorry other people haven’t had as great of an experience. I will say I do prefer the glencoe location over the Lincolnshire (not just due to location) but also the office seems nicer : newer .“

“Office personnel very professional and friendly. Doctor Barsky was very thorough and very helpful as was her assistant. She gave me instructions on how to take care of the procedure she did for me and wanted to follow up with me in a couple of months. I have been going to her for many years and have been very happy.“

I especially liked that the two spots were removed on the same visit and I did not have to come back or reschedule! Also, that someone would call me for biopsy results and I would not have to use the internet!“

“Excellent experience with my doctor. First time patient and it was easy and very welcoming. I am so pleased to have found this place.

Now with several visits at the Glenview office....my one observation is the over use of co-pay billing.

1. Consultations are billed as a co-pay....tough when you are there both to be seen and interview the doctor

2. To have the doctor review her work....actually removed a mole that was not discussed and had to come back for the correct one....another co-pay was needed for their error.

3. When stitches were removed...it was done by a medical assistant and the doctor never reviewed her work...I had an issue of a new lump in my face and for me to come see the doctor so she can review...I had to pay another co-pay.

4. It seems the doctor has to split work because they are busy and numerous times are needed and each time a $60 co-pay was asked of me....in 1 month I had 6 co-pays asked of me.

Emails were not replied to when I asked why am I having to pay for a check up on their work or correct an error in their work.

Though the doctor is very nice and professional...I feel a bit financially drained on the co-pays for follow up visits due to their error and doctor haven't looked at the work she had done.

I feel $360 paid to walk in the door to give them business is a bit extreme and I feel like a milked cow.

My present doctor is leaving and I will find a smaller office or find a reputable source in Mexico City for treatments as that is my 2nd place of residence.“

“I’ve been seeing Dr. Shanker for years and he’s an excellent dermatologist who is knowledgeable and kind. My whole family has gone to him for different things and he’s helped all of us tremendously.“

“I came to this doctor as he is the only one who can test for everything that can cause contact allergies, even surgical implants. It was worth the drive. He is like the Dr. House of dermatology. He is also a professor, so listen to him and his expertise, go back to being a student in college for 30 mins. Keep your questions to the end and he will be through answering them all.

Dr. Hoyer is lovely and has a lovely bedside manner. I hope I am finally nearing the end of dealing with ezcema for 5 years. She listened to my symptoms and helped me understand my condition more. Gave some suggestions so hopefully things will get even better for my skin.

Eric was nice as well as he was my first contact with the practice. Same with the front desk. Experience has been pleasant.

They will also supply membership to a special phone app that will help you avoid your allergic triggers when shopping. The app is easy to use and search. He also sells a liquid to test metals in your home, that has been super helpful in identifying what I shouldn't touch.
