The amount that my child has learned and the difference in his confidence and behaviors at home in just the last two months of being there is off the charts! Master Maya and Master Joshua run amazing, disciplined and energetic classes for the kids to train and learn. It is such a healthy and balanced environment. My son spent years in another program, and I wish I would have started at Tiger Koo's. Also, my children just enjoyed their birthday party here and it was amazing fun.“

421 N Randall Rd, Lake in the Hills“Ha’s Taekwondo has truly been a life-changing experience for me. The instructors are not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but they also care deeply about each student’s growth, both on and off the mats. Their dedication and passion for teaching are evident in every class.
What truly sets Ha’s Taekwondo apart is the strong sense of community. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by both the instructors and fellow students. It’s a place where people of all ages and backgrounds and skills come together to encourage and inspire one another.
Grandmaster Ha is truly one of a kind. He places an incredible value on the relationships he builds with his students and their families. His genuine care and dedication go far beyond the dojang, creating a lasting impact on everyone who trains under him.
What sets Grandmaster Ha apart is his commitment to lifelong learning. Despite his mastery, he is constantly seeking ways to enhance his teachings, ensuring his students receive the best instruction possible. His passion for Taekwondo and his drive to continuously improve are inspiring to everyone who has the privilege to train with him. Ha’s Taekwondo is more than a school—it’s a family, and Grandmaster Ha is the heart of it. I am deeply honored to be part of his legacy.
Master Eric is also an exceptional instructor. He takes the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, fostering not only martial artists but well-rounded individuals. Personally, Master Eric has had a tremendous impact on my development as a martial artist and a person. His mentorship and guidance have shaped me in ways that words cannot fully capture.
Through my training here, I’ve gained more than just physical skills—I’ve developed discipline, confidence, and a stronger sense of resilience that carries over into every aspect of my life. Taekwondo has helped me overcome challenges, set meaningful goals, and build a healthier mindset.
If you’re looking for a place to learn martial arts, connect with a great community, and transform yourself for the better, I can’t recommend Ha’s Taekwondo enough!“

678 Northwest Hwy, Cary“My 7yr old son is an only child. He was often bullied, not knowing how to respond, having very little conflict in his life.
Lee’s Martial Arts has given him the confidence he needs in order to face life’s problems head on. He now approaches problems with the skills necessary to navigate life’s ups and downs.
Grand Master Lee cares about his students and their parents. He, along with Master Ken, are pillars of this community.
Parents: sign your kids up for this school as soon as possible. They are excellent examples of the idea that “ It takes a village.”“

454 Redington Dr Suite F, South Elgin“I was a pleasure getting a tour form Jason the instructor on the new techniques in these different styles. They have so many programs to choose from and they are really encouraging you to come with your family and make it a family event, as their are not too many sports that you can actually participate in with your children. I highly recommend their best program the Family class up to 6 family members. The self discipline, self-motivation and the two biggest traits you really need to develop early in life. This school has this as their top priority. I cannot wait to bring my family here starting May 1, 2024.“

This is an honest dojo that doesn't want you to drop hundreds of dollars for mediocre training, and the people are some of the nicest you'll ever see. Don't get discouraged by the location because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for anyone wanting to get into martial arts.“

400 W Spring St, South Elgin“We have been taking our sons here for 9+ years. Our youngest (I was pregnant when the older two joined) grew up watching his brothers and couldn't wait to join. It was his favorite birthday present! Grandmaster Hutson and Master Harville don't only teach "forms". They help teach our sons self-defense, respect, confidence, dedication/perseverance, patience, and community; building character and lifelong friendships. I recommend this school to everyone! Check out the website - there are family classes too.“

9342 S Virginia Rd, Lake in the Hills“Update: I wrote my review prior to reading the other reviews. I have to say that I am shocked by the couple of negative reviews regarding FOCUS and NISRA. (And no-we are not getting a kickback for a favorable review-that is ridiculous.) We were on a waitlist through NISRA for a while before a spot opened up for our son. We were bummed, but understood that both entities needed to ensure that it was properly staffed for the number of participants. We attend each week with our son, and as stated below, could not be happier with the inclusive mindset of FOCUS. I also want to note that the NISRA volunteers work hard to get everyone to participate. We have never seen anyone left out. They are well staffed and highly qualified. Participants all work at their own level, but if a child is not participating, it is not for lack of trying on either end. Not all kids enjoy all activities and perhaps the child did not want to participate. We have recently moved to this area and could not be more pleased with the organization, cooperation and communication from NISRA. Everyone is human and mistakes can happen, but both organizations would likely be very happy to hear concerns in a constructive way. If you are considering NISRA or FOCUS, I highly recommend!
We have a son with a diagnosis of Down Syndrome who takes karate at Focus Martial Arts through NISRA. We cannot say enough about this amazing program. The owners and the instructors are among the most inclusive and welcoming people I have ever met. They genuinely care about kids and their progress. They break down concepts and skills so that our son understands, but they have high expectations for his growth. Our son has made improvements in karate, behavior, focus and school because of their leadership. We are so grateful and highly recommend!“
