“GCPro was contracted by my insurance to fix a parkway fence on my property that was damaged by a car accident. I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and competence of Patryk (project manager) and team. He personally came out to check out the damage and the repair progress, and continued to communicate clearly and consistently throughout the process. He noticed an area in need of repair that the subcontractor had missed, and sent the team back to address it. In addition he personally fixed a gate latch that was not part of the repair, but that we did not have the tools to fix ourselves.  He is efficient, polite and easy to work with, and went above and beyond expectations.  It was a welcome relief when dealing with a sudden unfortunate repair such as ours. “Good experience with this crew start to finish. We had them do the family room and the upstairs hallway, both red oak. The color match between the two areas turned out better than I thought it would since they were finished at different times. After comparing a few options in Elmhurst, their quote was reasonable and they actually showed up the day they said they would. The floors have been in for about a month and still look like day one.“

“The hardwood on our stairs had deep gouges and the finish was completely worn off on the high-traffic treads. It looked bad and felt rough underfoot. CM'S Wood Stairs sanded all the treads and risers down and applied a fresh finish that brought the wood back to life. The gouges are gone and the surface is smooth again. They also tightened up the railing posts while they were working since a couple had some give to them. The staircase feels sturdy and looks consistent from top to bottom now, which is a nice change.“

“We just had Big Bro Hardwood tackle a big job for us. We replaced the entire main floor with rift and quarter-sawn white oak!

Demo on this project was a huge task. We had two types of old flooring. Part of it was an engineered hardwood which was glued directly to the subfloor, and part of it was a laminate floating floor on top of tile. Big Bro removed ALL of the old layers of flooring, down to the subfloor, repaired the subfloor where required, and put down new plywood underlayment.

We decided to pay the extra for the rift and quarter sawn white oak material, and man was it worth it. The new flooring is absolutely beautiful. So much so that although we were originally going to stain it, we decided to go with a clear coat only. Dan (the owner) put down the best of the best, Loba 2k Duo. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and we know the floor is as well protected as possible.

Lastly, the finishing. This also was a harder-than-usual task. Our home has all rounded corners. This meant all the trim had to be installed utilizing the 3-piece mitre method (picture attached). I don’t think it was Dan’s favorite part of the job, but the end result looks excellent.

Dan’s entire crew took great care of us. All of them were professional, timely, and very hard working. It really reallly shows. Big Bro’s price for the job was very fair. I would have ZERO hesitation recommending Big Bro Flooring to anyone in need of their services. An excellent experience!“

There were some dings and scrapes that happened when we removed the carpet that had been covering up the floors for decades. These got repaired so well that I can't even find them anymore.
They also got the floors done in the timeframe that he gave me, for the price that he estimated. So there weren't any nasty surprises.“
