I am floored by the positive reviews I keep seeing. Are we talking about the same person? I gave him two stars because he did spot a condition that I didn't know I had (verified elsewhere) He also did the following: -Gave me incorrect information more than once and didn't listen at all when I told him he was wrong. (he implied I should be dead by now, and because I wasn't, some of my issues weren't worth looking into ) -flat out denied that I had a condition which TWO rheumatologists verified. - repeatedly said contradictory things between appointments - avoided answering my questions like it was an Olympic sport. - was incredibly condescending to the point of telling me what I was feeling -touched me without warning me, I'm used to this, but other patients might be upset by it. - had someone call to schedule an MRI. Twice the person who called said they'd call me back after selecting a location and nothing came of it. That's not counting my three other attempts where I didn't even get a call. - had me schedule an injection and a) didn't tell me what the injection was (I assumed based on my own knowledge, but this could be a big issue for others) b) failed to tell me it was done under sedation, meaning I'd have to bring someone with me. (I only found out when I called the surgery center to ask why I got sedation instructions)

I have multiple herniated discs severe spinal stenosis on top of disc degeneration disease!! I have had three neck fusions on top of needing a rod in cervical spine..Had many shots many procedures without any success but doc is the best there is no other doctor that gives better spinal shots nerve blocker than him!!!! I will get a shot from him any day

In 2015 I found myself in a horrifying position...my back was failing me. Despite all efforts, I was getting drastically worse. That's when I was referred to Dr. Xia. I began seeing him in the summer of 2015. He guided me step by step thru every possible option that could help me or bring me relief. At the same time he kept my growing chronic pain under control. He carefully selected meds that would not just reduce the pain, but minimize the damage to the body. He is not just looking out for the present, but your future health as well. I feel absolutely free to ask him any question. He always has a well thought out reason for the procedure or medicines we are considering. Over the past three years I have learned that every decision he makes has been the right one in my situation. In no small way am I exaggerating when I say he has been the one light in this tunnel. I feel very fortunate that he has been by my side through this entire journey. There is no way I could face this without his knowledge, ability and compassion. In serious and complicated back issues such as mine, there is never a clear path. He has been the one decision I have been able to make with 100 percent certainty.
