Photo albums, cards, pictures in frames and a few items were displayed well and accessible around the room. The flowers were better than expected. My mom looked good and was dressed as she was in life, right down to the perfume provided. Everything I brought as well as the funeral cards and death certificates were packed up neatly in the bags for pickup the next day.“

Hopefully we will not need this type of service any time again soon, but if we do, we will use them again.“

The facility has plenty of parking, is clean and has a full dining area. They have a very relaxing section where you can observe live finches interacting and there is a small children's area as well.
My brother knew so much about old cars. He also knew so many details about music. He was an icon who went to Heaven too soon.
I miss you, Mike!!!!“

9837 S Kedzie Ave, Evergreen Park“I'm convinced that Linda Kosary is on earth to help guid people through their hardest times with class and grace. My dad's funeral was in March 2023 ,and my sister and I were in total dispar. Linda help guid us through and make decisions like an angel on earth whould do. She help with evey detail, and went above and byond making sure that everything was perfect. She even help find us a table so we could set up a chess board for the wake. Chess was my dad's game, and he would have loved it. Especially since my son is an excellent player. And was the top player at Evergreen Park High-school at the time of his death. We did our own flowers, orchid plants that I still have blooming, and canna lilys were some of what we put out . Orchids were his favorite. She made sure we had everything we needed ,and even commented about how beautiful they were. And she commented about how we had things that he loved on all the tables of the room. We had his favorite book Tresure Island out , the Bible, some of his favorite quotes, and pictures of his favorite Jazz musicians, the steel mill that he worked at ,and his union jacket displayed. She commented many times about what an interesting man he must have been, and she was right. She made me feel the best when she told me that my obituary was so beautiful . That was touching to me ,because I took four hours to write it in the middle of the night one night, and I had hoped that it was honorable. If Linda thought so ,it must have been, because with all her years in this profession, she would know. She help me take my dad's favorite ring with me , and that ment a lot ,because I loved that ring for years ,and it was too difficult for me to take it from him. She made me feel good about that. It was just such a hard day. I would only recommend her to help with any funeral based on my wonderful experience at such a difficult time. I hope I don't have the need to see her again for a very long time. But if anyone is in need of her delicate services, her place is the classiest funeral parlor I have ever experienced ,and the only place I would send a loved one too in their time of need for such services. In 2017, one of my friends of many years passed ,and his wake was at Kosary. Knowing what I know now,I am glad this was where his parents had chosen to take him. That makes me feel comfort for his family who still misses him. This parlor is the very best in the entire area. And deserves the highest praise.“

5539 W 127th St, Crestwood“Our father passed away suddenly on Friday night. Both of my parents are parishioners of the Incarnation Catholic Church, which is few minutes down the street. Per word of mouth, Becvar & Son was recommended to our mother. We connected with the funeral home on Friday night, met Saturday 9AM. By 2PM on Saturday, all the logistics for the prayer cards, wake, flowers, obituary, cemetery logistics, picture presentation, along with video slideshow were completed. Dave provided quick and direct responses to all queries and concerns in regards to the items listed above. Dave was very flexible and patient with creating a wonderful obituary. Such a quick turnaround allowed our family to focus on creating a warm and detailed visual display during the wake. Especially since the funeral was planned for Tuesday, 4 days after death.
I think the most important part is the mortician. After our father passed away from cancer, our mother was concerned for open casket. When we visited our father during the wake, he looked warm, there was color in his skin, he looked like himself. As heartbreaking as it was, it was also amazing.
The wake was beautiful, our family was very pleased. We were given access before our entry time, and did not feel rushed to leave. It was a very family oriented environment.
On the the day of the funeral, each immediate family driver was given a # place card, 1 through 6, where our mom was in 1st car, etc... this allowed for smooth, and non-eventful procession.
After the funeral services were over, we were able to access the extra flowers for our dad's grave. While we were loading the flowers, Becvar & Son provided a bag where all the extra prayer card, sympathy cards, thank you card, sympathy booklet, along with a large cross that was hanging inside the coffin while it was open. Our mother was very happy with the items received.
Becvar & Son made our family feel welcome, they provided perfect atmosphere to sendoff our dad. We strongly recommend them, and are very thankful.“

He is empathetic, kind, thoughtful, patient, a great listener, and allowed us (parents) to grieve, think, reflect and breathe, while he did all of the work. Being the only family at the funeral home for her service provided a personal and intimate space for her family and friends. Thank you, Nick. We will never forget you.“

Dave and his entire team are the most empathetic, caring, and respectful people that you could ask for. Dave was always patient with us, helped us through every little step, and was so accommodating. We couldn’t have gotten through all the logistical details without his support and guidance. You saved me from a last minute casket spray request and when I thought that was the most oustanding demonstration of care, you made my little 7yr old niece and everyone present smile, when we saw the SPARKLING Pink cover! My niece was happy her Mommy was getting somwthing pink and sparkly, her favorite.
During these sad moments you added joy as we placed our loved one to rest. Thank you.“

10133 S Prospect Ave, Chicago“Everyone that I talked to at Precious Embers was very professional and courteous and friendly, they picked up my husband's body and done his cremation, when they were done with everything they called to tell me everything was done, I asked when and where I had to pick up my husband's remains, the gentleman Mike told me not to worry about picking the remains up, that they would deliver the remains to my house. I thought that was very nice because, I was still afraid of driving alone, and I was a little afraid of driving with my husband's remains in the car, because I never had too do that before. But Mike delivered the Urn and death certificate to my house and express his condolences to me about the loss of my husband. He said that if I need help with anything to please call them to see if they could help. A few weeks later I had to take the death certificate to Social Security, but when we read the certificate for the first time since my husband passed away, we found a mistake on the death certificate. I was afraid of all that I thought that I would have to do the fix the problem, but I called Precious Embers and talked to Mike and he said he would handle the problem, and when he got it straightened out he would call me. It only to a day or two to fix my problem, I was surprised when Mike called and said he could stop by with the new and fixed death certificate, if I was home he could be there in fifteen minutes with the new death certificate. Mike showed up in fifteen minutes just like he said. If anybody needs to have someone cremated and would like some really very courteous and helpful assistance I would recommend Precious Embers. I'm not a young person I'm 70 and I couldn't ask for a more courteous and compassioned funeral home. Not only were they helpful but, there prices were very reasonable, I called around 10 different funeral homes, they all were very pricey, and acted like I was invading there privacy, asking them question's about prices and what all they provided in there packages. Some said they didn't have time to discuss things with me right know that they would have someone call me back, but no one called me back. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I had question's that when I talked to Mike at Precious Embers he walked right threw the process of what needed to be done, the price it would cost and that they would handle the whole process, seeing that I never had to do any of this before. I would recommend Precious Embers to anyone who would like a very courteous and comfortable process in your time of need. They took care of all my problems and worries that I had, I had no Idea what I had to do for this process of cremation for my husband, but Precious Embers handled everything for me. So if your not sure what your supposed to do give Precious Embers a call in your time of nee, I know that they will talk you right threw the process and answer all your questions. I couldn't ask for a more courteous funeral home in my time of need, they made me feel comfortable in my worst time in my life. So give them a call, when you need them, tell them the Snider's sent you.“

“Just this month we used Lawn Funeral Home for the wake of my father in law. It is a funeral home we have used in the past and have always felt supported and welcome. For this recent visit it was my first time planning a funeral myself and I was met with warm- kind people each step of the way. From the first call coordinating picking him up. To the meeting scheduled the very next day to go over arrangements. Everything was explained in detail and we were given paper copies of everything. The staff was empathetic and made a difficult and confusing time be less stressful in the best way they could. When it came time to the wake- they did a great job on my father in law. We were worried he wouldn’t look like himself and he really did. Friends and family stated he looked as though he was just sleeping. They were great with communication between us and also the cemetery. They spoke to them and helped ensure everything would run smoothly the day of the burial. Shortly after the services we got the call that the death certificates were already back. Which told me they had a sense of urgency and filed the paperwork right away. Someone who specifically stands out is Keith. He was the person who talked us through everything- took our calls and was there until the very end. We are truly grateful for him & the wonderful staff we encountered .“
