Highly recommend! Best massage on Island. I have had many massages in my lifetime. This is definitely the best. I requested a few different things specifically my legs, knees, and feet. Was given a 1 hour full body massage, which helped all of the areas including the painful areas. The calming music and focused massaging let me disappear from the pain I feel every day. The environment was very comfortable and inviting. Julia was able to break up tight calves and relieve the stress in my neck and shoulders. If you're looking for a massage on the Kona side of the Big Island, this is the right place.

My husband and I visited the Big Island on our honeymoon and were looking for a romantic massage/spa experience. Let me be the first to tell you to skip all of the big-name resort spas and come out to Mamalahoa! Our experience was completely magical. The twilight package was already booked but we called and they were able to get us in a little earlier for a soak, 60 minute massage, and 90 minute soak, which was absolutely perfect. We’ve been to a few spas and nothing was as romantic as this experience. They had everything we needed and the staff was very kind, and professional. The massages were absolutely amazing, and it was so relaxing to enjoy to the sounds of nature. The hot tubs are customized to your temperature of your liking and attended to while you’re away. Besides that, you are given total solitude, relaxation, and privacy. I cannot recommend this experience enough to anyone. We were staying in Waikaloa, so we had to drive out, but we’d do it again 100 times over. Absolutely wonderful!!
There is only 1 handicap stall in front of the building extremely steep driveway right off the only 1 lane highway around the island very dangerous and unfriendly parking situation. Staff however very friendly and helpful. Like every place on the big island not very handicap friendly!!!!
Wonderful little piece of heaven in paradise. They offer many treatments for body and mind healing, self care and pampering. Very comprehensive service menu to choose from and also customizable. Ken and Susie were amazing. They exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

Troubleshooted a water pressure issue on short notice. I then had Austin (and is trusty side kick) replace/install 2 Pressure Relief Valves, a Backflow Preventer and 3 faucets. He and his assistance showed up when they said they would, they did a great (professional) job, AND were very reasonably priced! I will definatly use him for all my future plumbing needs. Mahalo!

I was vacationing in Kona, and thought it would be nice to return home sun kissed and a fresh look with a hair cut. Kelsie totally delivered! Extremely clean and elegant salon that reads like a day spa on the inside decor. Open concept that was inviting and lended to an ohana feel. I have long, thick blonde hair and in my 50's so I'm starting to have white thicker mature hairs blending in. I gave Kelsie an idea of how many inches I was thinking to take off, and let her work her magic. The greatest thing was she absolutely nailed the cut I needed, took off 5+ inches, framed my face and it was beautiful. She styled it using a hot iron, which was a different technique than I have done, but it showed me another option for styling and was more now. Totally love what she did, mahalo!!!
Lori only works on very short hair and does a great job with it. My husband was very happy with his haircut. She is also a florist and he brought home an orchid for me.
I had the pleasure of visiting Parrots in Paradise this week with my parents, and it was truly a special experience.
The sanctuary itself is set on a stunning ten-acre property with sweeping ocean views—peaceful, beautiful, and clearly a place created with care and intention. Gerald and his mom, Dorothy, run the sanctuary, and you can feel their heart in everything they do.
Gerald led our guided tour and completely impressed us. His knowledge is extensive, but what stood out even more was his deep, personal connection to each of the 100+ parrots in his care. He shared the unique stories behind many of the birds and helped us understand just how emotionally sensitive and intelligent parrots are. It was both educational and genuinely moving.
The highlight of the tour was being invited into one of the enclosures, where we were able to take photos with parrots perched on our shoulders—an unforgettable moment for all of us.
This is not just a tour, it’s an experience rooted in respect, compassion, and love for these incredible birds. I would absolutely recommend Parrots in Paradise to anyone looking for something meaningful and memorable.
