“I recently had a new patient appointment at Straub Medical in Mililani, specifically in the dermatology department, with Dr. Suzanna Grima. I'm pleased to share that my experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. As someone who is usually apprehensive about meeting new doctors due to uncertainties about customer service and care, I was pleasantly surprised by the positive encounter I had.Right from the outset, the front desk staff set a welcoming tone by being attentive and efficient. Their promptness added to the positive impression I was forming. Additionally, I had my infant and toddler with me, and both Dr. Grima and her nurse demonstrated remarkable patience, understanding, and friendliness. Their ability to handle the situation with such grace truly made a difference.Dr. Suzanna Grima herself stood out for her personable demeanor, evident knowledge, and unquestionable professionalism. She not only addressed my personal concerns effectively but also managed to make me feel comfortable and at ease throughout the appointment. As someone who's been on the lookout for a reliable dermatologist, I can confidently recommend Dr. Suzanna Grima to anyone seeking top-notch care. My experience at Straub Medical, particularly with Dr. Grima and her team, has been exceptional, and I'm grateful to have found such a skilled and compassionate dermatologist.“

“A bit apprehensive for my first appointment here. Brenda the receptionist is sweet. I had informed my regular doctor that what I was hearing or not hearing was a bit off enough to get it checked out,Different exams with ear Bud like items placed in your ears. You just sit and do nothing while high, medium and low sounds are heard. You then go into a little booth and signal the doctor if you hear something. Finally you repeat words after Dr. Mary Ellen. Results are shared and solutions given. No pressure just go home and think about it and get tested again in 2 or 3 years.“

“I had no idea this place exist! Went here and was in and out within 20 minutes. The nurses were both super friendly and Dr. Yamashiro was pretty awesome too. Definitely great option if you can't wait long for an appointment at your doctors office.“

“On Wednesday, Dec 13 our 94-year old dad fell in his living room and I called 911 with ambulance arriving within 5 minutes. I drove to ER at Ewa Queen's - enter via security guard and turn right follow big red signs. Parking lot is uncovered but decent amount of stalls with signage. Check-in with security was smooth- must submit all articles with you for metal search and walk thru one too. Given a Visitor sticker to wear.Reception gals were very pleasant despite it being 6:00 AM and let me into ER giving me easy directions. This ER was already busy with gurneys lining the walls of the area. Literally every space was taken and all the rooms as well. I gotta say I had a front row seat to an amazingly well oiled machine and was in awe of how professional, quick, patient and nice everyone was- from the rubbish man to the volunteers in yellow shirts, to the nurses, doctors, EMT and Security guards. Everyone was busy doing their jobs, making sure each patient had some attention at the right time to check vitals, update progress on admittance, getting blankets, potty pans, towels, anything and everything to help the patient remain calm and in less pain as possible. The ER doctor, Dr Evan Grosjean kindly spoke with me and my Dad, asking good questions, giving him all the appropriate tests to ensure his head, face, back and stomach were clear of any internal bleeding or broken bones. He explained that the rooms in the hospital are entirely full so Dad would have to remain in the corner on his gurney until something opened up. Given the Covid and flu situation it was understood that this hospital would be full. The resident (?) doctor, Dr Patel was just as patient and kind with Dad. He reiterated what Dr Grosjean said and explained other blood work necessary since Dad had been face down and could affect his kidneys. He was whisked away for the tests and brought back quickly, didn't have to wait too long for the results which was amazing to me given how packed the place was. The nurses were all patient and kind- checked in on Dad, cleaned up his soiled pants, changed him, made sure he had a potty pan- I was witness to this as I sat there from 6:00 am-3:00 pm even with the shift changes. And I gotta say the EMT guys were busy!!! There must have been a dropoff every few minutes with gurneys having to negotiate a crowded area but they did it nicely and carefully. Explaining to each patient what was going to happen, etc. A lot of them were very young and I felt proud of how well they handled each patient - with aloha spirit! There is a convenience store just around the corner from ER with soft drinks, coffee, spam musubi, salads, sandwiches, chips, sweets, other snacks. They take credit cards. I also used a Bank of Hawaii ATM in the ER waiting area. Parking was free in ER lot too. Plenty of wheelchairs were lined up at front doors in case you need to use for someone impaired. No outside food or drinks are allowed, or it's at the discretion of security who called ER desk to get permission. Dad is still there in his corner waiting for a room to open up, but I was given a direct phone number to ER which I called this morning at 6:00 AM and nurse answered quickly letting me know he was fine and should be in a room after lunch. He may prefer the hallway though because he had a front row seat to the REAL ER show. Mahalo nui loa to all the hardworking, caring staff in the ER! You guys deserve a humongous raise and way more admiration than the professional sports players who make millions. Just saying. Sincerely, A very grateful daughter“

“I've recently needed to find a new primary care doctor as mine moved to Arizona and referred me to Straub. Soooo, having a year's worth of refill prescriptions for my medication I of course waited until I really really needed a new PCP to start the process of finding one. If I knew how easy it would be I would have started earlier but then I wouldn't have found the one I got but that's another review.I'm over the moon happy with this medical center. Parking is a breeze, it's on Pali Momi Street in Pearlridge next to Big City Diner and Down to Earth. I park at the far end as I'm an early morning riser and it's a short drive from my house and lots of parking open at 7:15. Parking is free! It's just a short walk to the clinic with well maintained sidewalks for wheelchair access and handicap parking even closer. You walk into the clinic, register at the front desk, pay your co-pay or tell them to bill you then take a seat. Your doctor's assistant with call you at your scheduled appointment time. Another plus of early visits is there are fewer people to contend with. At the time of this review masks are required but apparently that will soon change. Personally I wish they would continue to require them at medical facilities, too many sick people, some who knowingly or unknowingly are contagious.I'm also a fan that you can have your blood drawn on site. Again just walk in, register, no appointment needed. Because everything is in your chart (through My Chart) your doctor enters what tests he wants run so it's available to the Phlebotomy technicians. The results are available to you and your doctor in hours.“
