About VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System
VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System in Honolulu is highly regarded for its excellent care and support for veterans. Patients appreciate the good service, especially in women's health and mental health, with providers being prompt, informative, and attentive. While there was a minor negative experience early on with enrollment, overall, patients feel well taken care of and prefer the VA over civilian hospitals and insurance. Many have been satisfied with the service for years and value the commitment to veteran well-being.
I’ve only witnessed the old veterans who are heavily dependent on the system lash out at the staff, and the low-rated reviews are a testament to that. I don’t think it’s the VA’s fault if you’ve gone through all your life after retirement “purposely” staying broken. The PTSD folks, I understand. But the ones who say they’d be “court-martialed” if they did this to customers in the military; please get a life. The system is here to help.
The staff at this VA are actually some of the nicest and most professional I’ve encountered, especially compared to the mainland.
I have experienced nothing but the best service here at Honolulu VA. There was one instance with less than pleasant experience but that will not dent rest of the excellent service I have received here. They take very good care of veterans, including me. I prefer VA than any other hospitals.
12+ years as a patient, no complaints. Very good service at the hospital and through the Care in the Community Program. I had one Physical Therapist in the community I didn't care for, I asked the VA coordinator to switch me, they did. I prefer services with the VA to any civilian insurance I've had to date.
