I want to specifically commend Teresa and Kent. They both went out of their way to ensure every detail went smoothly. I had specific, sensitive requests regarding my mother's ashes, and they handled everything with exceptional organization and care. Their attention to detail was flawless.

“Our family entrusted the care of our mother to Levitt and Son’s Funeral Home (Flat Shoals Pkwy location), and we are deeply grateful for the support we received. Our first encounter was with Fannie. She guided us through the preplanned burial policy process with patience and clarity while setting the tone of warmth and reassurance for what to expect. Sorrowfully, our mother passed several months later.

Rebecca, our funeral director, was AWESOME! She walked us through every step. She was attentive, organized, very responsive, and always mindful of our needs. We never felt alone in the process.

“I had the most wonderful experience with this company. It is under sad circumstances to be working with them, and I wish more companies offered the level of customer service they do. I originally order this for my dog who passed away in 2021. When his brother died in January of 2023 I thought it would be nice to collect their ashes together in the same urn. I reached out to see if the engraved disk could be updated to reflect both of my boy's names. With no problems what so ever, they were able to do so (and for a more than fair amount I may add.) When my package arrived a few days later, it was an entirely new urn. I emailed customer support to see if this was a mistake. They loving replied that they just sent an entirely new urn in case there was an issue, I wouldn't have the hassle of dealing with it. How FREAKING thoughtful of them. Putting your best friend to rest is extremely sad and hard to process, the fact that they eliminated any additional stress in my situation is huge. I am beyond thankful, and cannot say enough kind words about this company. The urn is beautiful, my boys are together and this was the easiest online transaction I've made. Their customer service says a lot about the company and their ethics, they are doing something really, really right. Good job and thank you for being so kind.“

“We worked up an appetite walking the grounds of the Decatur Cemetery, using one of their printed guides to find the interesting residents here. We did notice four different errors in the guide, so there's that.

The Decatur Cemetery is the oldest known publicly owned burial ground in metro Atlanta, believed to predate the city's 1823 incorporation.

Rich and poor, free and slave, and yes, quite a few CSA soldiers laid to rest here. Most of the walkways are easily walkable but some are not. If you're mobility challenged, there is still quite a lot that is accessible. Military veterans, legislators, congressmen, authors and judges. Even one of the delegates to the Secession Convention.

This is well worth your time to visit. Please be respectful as this is an active cemetery and there are people here encountering their own personal losses.“
