Full Review:
I was having trouble relighting the pilot light on my 20-year-old water heater, and since I don’t make a habit of messing with gas appliances, I decided to call a plumber. I honestly don’t even know how I ended up choosing A&T Plumbing Services; they were 14th on the list when I Googled “plumbers low service fee near me,” but I’m very glad I trusted my gut and called him.
Appointment Setting Process & Arrival:
Since there was no flooding or other plumbing emergency, I didn’t need same-day service. I spoke with Aaron around 2 p.m. Wednesday, and he was able to come out first thing the next morning. I received a courtesy text when he was about 10–15 minutes away, and when he arrived, he introduced himself and his nephew Chris, handed me a business card, and got right to work.
Diagnosis & Recommendation:
It didn’t take long for Aaron to confirm what I suspected: after 20 years, the water heater had finally reached the end of its life. What I appreciated most was that he clearly explained my options before I committed to anything. He went over a like-for-like replacement versus tankless, recommended brands and sizes based on our household, discussed warranty options, and even pointed out some piping that had been installed incorrectly when the house was built and explained how he could improve it.
Pricing & Labor Timing:
The estimate was fair and reasonable based on the research I had already done, so I decided to move forward. Aaron and Chris drained the old unit, picked up the replacement, completed the installation, and had everything back up and running in about 3.5 hours total, including the trip to Home Depot.
Closing:
Before leaving, Aaron showed me how to use the new unit, provided my receipt, and answered all of my questions. I even called with a follow-up question after he left, and he was just as helpful.
