“We were traveling through the area when our dog ate something that caused a blockage. We took him to Mantanzas River Animal Hospital where Dr. Nicholas saw him. After doing X-rays and a sonogram the Dr. showed us not only the blockage, but a very large liver (our dog had Cushing's) where he discovered two tumors, as well as pneumonia caused by vomiting from when our dog was trying to expel the foreign object.Dr. Nicholas was very upfront and factual about our options and when asked, he provided his personal recommendation. He was right but the decision was still very difficult and painful. We never felt rushed and Dr. Nicholas patiently answered our questions even when I feel like I asked the same questions over and over. His staff was equally compassionate and patient. It appears that they do all their testing onsite and are capable of addressing the most complicated illnesses.I feel like we lucked out by finding this wonderful "old school" veterinarian who knows how to think on his feet; he was wise and not greedy. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our emotional needs. Thank you Dr. Nicholas and team for your compassionate treatment.“

“We go here regularly for routine checkups with our teacup yorkie but this week she has been sick with pancreatitis. The front staff, vet techs and Veterinarians have been so sweet, responsive, attentive and helpful during this stressful time. Glad to have them available for our sweet Laci girl “

“Nobody ever wants to bring their fur baby to an emergency vet as opposed to their regular vet because it's unfamiliar and usually means the crisis is happening at a really bad time. But when Four had a urinary blockage for the first time ever and on a Friday night, we ended up at SARVEC for the weekend. I was terrified for him, but all of the staff and vets there were absolutely amazing. Sweet, kind, and compassionate. They explained what was happening and how he needed to be treated in terms easy to understand. The costs aligned with what the Internet had already prepared me for when researching what I suspected was ailing Four. But most of all, the staff encouraged me to call whenever I wanted and to actually come up and visit Four as often as I wanted during his hospitalization. They discharged him to our regular vet Monday morning for a final assessment instead of potentially sending him home too early (which could have caused a relapse). They educated me on the treatment/special food Four would need going forward after his emergency. And to my surprise - even though they had saved Four, discharged him, and moved on to their other emergencies - SARVEC called me a week later to check on how Four was doing. He wasn't just a one-and done emergency to them... they wanted to know if he was going to be okay long-term after their job was done.Nobody ever wants to take their fur baby to an emergency vet, but if you find yourself with no choice, absolutely call SARVEC first.“
