I was referred to Parx Home Health, spoke to Maggie the coordinator the day I was being discharged and immediately in less than 24 hours I had a nurse in my home to assist me and someone to help me shower, dress etc.

I honestly feel that these ladies were absolutely incredible! Nilda was my night angel! She was the nurse that would come in the evening to clean my drains, removed and replaced my dressings each night. She treated me with so much patience, compassion, kindness. She spoke to me, put me at ease and frankly I looked forward to seeing her each night! Then there was Lorraine, who would come to my home to bathe me, dress me, helped me even with chores and took such incredible care of me and my personal needs all the while ensuring I felt safe and frankly kept my dignity, because not being able to do things for yourself can be disheartening. I felt I had had a friend and indeed I did.

Not long after my surgery, I had a horrible evening of pain, in the morning I was throwing up all over myself, in excruciating pain and I called Lorraine in desperation. She heard me say “I threw up, I’m in pain” she was at my house in what seemed like minutes given she lives near me. She called my husband told him I had gotten worse, he said he was on his way to take me to the hospital. Unfortunately calling an ambulance was not a choice because they wouldn’t have taken me to the hospital where I had my surgery. Lorraine showered me, dressed me, accommodated me, cleaned all the vomit, sat with me and held me as I cried in agony in her arms. Once my husband arrived she helped him put me in the car and in that moment I realized how much she had done for me. She called me every day to see how I was doing, still now 2 months later she checks up on me!

I would recommend this agency with absolute confidence to anyone that is in need of home care. The care is absolutely top notch and above beyond the call of duty sort of speak. What was done for me by these ladies was far more I’m sure than the required duties, yet it was done with care, empathy, professionalism, integrity, kindness and respect.
