“My husband took our 18 year old cat , Joey there for a sinus infection. Staff was very attentive and it's close to home . They also have limited Saturday hours. Receptionist was super nice in setting up follow up appointment. Anyone who has cats knows that car rides and vet appointments are traumatic but Best Friends made it just a little bit easier. Then my two young cats hissed at him when he came home because he smelled like the vet's office. A can of food later and they're over it and of course they wanted the goody bag of treats he came home with.“

“Our large Labradoole mix has been going to Dr. Ewert at South Gate since we adopted her as a puppy. My husband & I adored this dog. Fortunately, she was healthy most of her life & saw her vet for routine check ups, heartworm prevention & shots. As she aged, she had arthritis, an occasional urinary tract infection or ear infecton. Each time we took her in for a problem, Dr. Ewert explained in detail the infection, how to avoid another, and gave directions for the medication we took home. Once, he drew a diagram of a dog's ear for me to completely understand her infection. He was always spot on with diagnosis & provided me with the Rx & treatment my dog needed. Sadly, last week, Dr. Ewert and his vet tech, Jessica, had to put down our 12 yr old beloved girl. She was beginning to suffer from cancers Dr. Ewert discovered several months ago and we couldn't treat. The kindness, compassion & support this vet and his assistant gave to my dog and me on one of the hardest days of my life, were incredible. I will be forever grateful. I never felt my dog & I were just another patient and owner. Dr. Ewert and Jessica treated us with loving care. South Gate is not just a business where these two special people earn a living. “i've had to bring my two cats there A couple of times. The staff attended to the situations in a professional , courteous and fast manner. The medication was twice the cost I would Pay if I was ordering it online, but given it was an emergency situation, she was able to be treated that same day instead of me waiting for a necessary medication delivery in the mail. I think some of the reviewers forget to consider this is an emergency room. and just like human emergency care, it is generally more costly. That said, The cost wasn't horribly bad. I would take my cat there again in a heartbeat if necessary.“

“The staff is great and very loving with my pets. The vets take good care at attending to their medical needs. However, I feel they are a bit pricey. They use to charge $25.00 for fecal exams. Now they charge about double that amount and they have raised prices in other areas as well.“

“I transferred my pet to San Carlos Park animal Hospital and we are very happy. The location is wonderful. The clinic was clean and the staff are warm and friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr. steely is wonderful with animals and very knowledgeable. Everyone we encountered from the front office to the veterinary technicians and the doctor and management was very professional and very kind. Their prices are great and they are definitely not charging as much as other places for the same great care. They are considerate and do not try to sell and rack up a high bill! I am surprised to see the bad reviews that some others have written, because I feel that you couldn't ask for more at a better price for animal care. I am very happy that I have switched in that San Carlos Park animal Hospital is now my veterinarian of choice and highly recommend them to others. If you are in need of a veterinary clinic, go here.
