“East Coast Construction SD recently completed a renovation of the master bathroom and bedroom in our Melbourne Beach home.
We chose them after winnowing down our options to three general contractors based on the BBB and other review sources. Sean, their president, was the one who came to see the rooms we wanted renovated, discuss our vision for the renovation, and take measurements and photos. Sean prepared a detailed proposal and made requested adjustments as we worked through design choices and final material selections.
It was incredibly helpful to be able to view, touch, and place stone, tile, cabinet, and fixture selections side by side in their well-appointed showroom. Julius, their Marketing Director, was instrumental to achieving the look, feel, quality level, and price point we desired.
Their project definition and proposal process was much better than what we experienced with the other two GCs and the quoted cost was about the same, making the choice easy.
The pre-construction meeting was attended by both Sean and Kevin, their project manager. Robert, our project supervisor, visited us shortly thereafter and went over what to expect and what we should do to prepare. The project got underway on the day we requested. Before demolition began, the crew spent a considerable amount of time and effort installing protection on the doors, windows, and back porch floor.
Robert did a great job of communicating with us. He let us know the evening prior to each workday who would be onsite and what they would be doing. He answered our questions, addressed our concerns, and ensured that mistakes and quality issues were addressed.
We requested additional work along the way and Sean prepared two task orders that we thought were reasonable and approved.
The schedule ran long, largely because of the floor tile having to be shipped from Spain after their tile supplier discovered the selected tile in stock was damaged.
The biggest issues we had during the project were due to some of their subcontractors. These issues were addressed and corrected to our satisfaction thanks to Robert’s dogged oversight and the company’s “make it right” way of doing business.
We are quite pleased with our renovated master bathroom and bedroom, and we highly recommend East Coast Construction SD to anyone in Brevard County considering a home addition or renovation.”
