“Our kitchen remodel was a family labor of love brought to fruition by our team from Lakeview Builders. The kitchen in our 100+ year old cottage was in need of refreshment.

After months of design and redesign of the agreed upon floor plan among the 4 senior sibling homeowners, it was time to find a team of contractors that we felt were well suited for our project. Upon reading reviews from others who had contracted with Lakeview, they became one of three from whom we sought estimates. A comfortable connection was established upon meeting with Bernie who drew up a very thorough estimate which helped us to know how our money would be used. Each family member carefully reviewed the estimate, submitted questions and received timely responses. The estimated cost, ability to meet our construction timeline, previous experience working with Kitchen Advantage (where we selected our cabinets) and responsiveness to questions along the way resulted in our selection of Lakeview Builders which proved a good choice for us.

From the start of the project to the finishing touches, we were pleased with the work of the various team members involved. All were very professional and respectful of our property. In most cases we knew whether or not we would have work done from day to day and if uncertain, I sent a text of inquiry and received my answer. Minor modification changes that we sought along the way were discussed and handled as requested.

Two family members and spouses were present throughout the remodel and two were not. Photos were exchanged throughout the less than 2 month process. Upon seeing the finished product for the first time, it was written, “The kitchen in person is even more spectacular than in photos. The wood floors are incredible. The shelves are decorated with tasteful old original trinkets. The lighting options are awesome. I appreciate the ceiling puck lights with dimmers, the two pendants over the island and the good looking sconce in the stairwell. The fresh staining has breathed life back into these antique walls. The shelving and trim work looks great!

The countertops are particularly outstanding and the ceiling and beams look original. I am overwhelmed how updated the space looks, but still has the integrity of a kitchen built in 1919.”

“Jason worked to remodel our bathroom. They removed a bathtub and installed a walk-in shower in its place. This involved significant tile work as well as changing the plumbing and installing shower doors, grab bars, and a folding seat. He was very helpful in selecting the various components, and the workers were both skilled and accommodating. Since it is our only full bathroom, turnaround time was also critical and the work was done exactly according to the schedule Jason provided. We would certainly give them our unconditional recommendation.“

“We had a load bearing wall removed between the kitchen and dining room to open it up. Since the ceiling was going to be open where the wall and existing cabinet and soffit were removed, we had them remove the textured ceiling and install recessed lighting throughout the entire space along with some new cabinets, a new microwave/range hood and new ductwork to vent it outside.

These guys are pros! From the first meeting with Jesse, explaining the entire process from design and drawing plans suitable for submission to the Building Department and the entire crew each day headed up by Tomasz. Always working very clean, even when sanding down the existing textured ceiling. All doorways and access to other parts of the house were sealed off. Patching the existing hardwood floor where the wall came down, you can't see where the old wall was! Electrical and HVAC vents had to be removed or relocated. Everything was done professionally, even bringing in a porta-potty for the crew while the job was in progress!

While the cost was more that I initially intended to spend, the results justified the cost based on the workmanship and professionalism of this team.

“In the fall of 2019, Rock renovated our kitchen, removing a wall separating our original kitchen from the dining room and opening up the space. The result is something that we have been delighted with for the past three years. And, yes, having a new, beautiful kitchen with near-commercial KitchenAid cooktop and dual ovens came in handy during the pandemic when all three of our children (two in college, one in high school at the time) were all home, and we were cooking all the time. (Holiday feasts are easy, too!) Honest, to this day, I truly enjoy using and cooking in this space. In addition to it being just beautiful, it's every bit as functional.\nWe liked the kitchen outcome so much, we invited Rock back to do more work earlier this fall, 2022. We re-located our laundry from a 1st floor mud room to the 2nd floor so we wouldn't have to carry laundry up and down stairs. This required blowing out a wall and altering three closets in a bathroom, hall, and bedroom all abutting one another. In addition, Rock is renovating two full and one half bathroom and the mud room. Oh, and they replaced all three entry doors. So far, one bathroom and the doors are complete and everything looks gorgeous.\nBoth Ken and Brian Rock are easy to work with and have good design ideas. But we've been even more impressed with the guys that do the heavy lifting. They are all personable and considerate. They show up on time and work a hard, full day. Each day you can see considerable progress. The dry wall guys, electricians, tilers, plumbers and painters all show the same care and master skill set. When it all comes together, it's well worth the disruption to our normal every day routine.\nI highly recommend Rock to anybody considering major home improvements and renovations.
