“the man who owns Bristol Vacuum is so nice. i have been going to him for all my vacuum needs, when I was cleaning offices i bought two vacuums from him. he can repair anything and he does repair sewing machines as well. I moved out of CT for about seven years but moved back to Bristol (my husband died unexpectedly). i needed some vacuum bags and rather then order them online I went to Bristol vacuum and got them. when I walked in Karl the owner came out of the back room and was moving slowly and I asked are you okay, he said yes and told me he was recovering from a stroke. I was shocked because he seems to young to have had a stroke. he said he was in the hospital for two weeks and then rehab for two weeks and of course being self employed he was anxious about his business and went back to work. he is almost back to normal but has to do things slower. so if you need any vacuums' or a sewing machines repaired bring it to him and he will fix it and not charge a lot. if you are looking to buy a new vacuum he will tell you what vacuums are decent and which ones to stay away from. he also has some vacuums he sells for a fair price (new ones and recondition ones).we always end up talking about just about anything. not too many vacuum repairs places around and not too many that are as honest and as helpful as Karl“

Although the return phone call confirmed this, sadly, about 10 minutes later I received a second phone call asking me to bring in the part 'in case' there was a possible substitution. I had nothing to lose except time, so I went and visited. A pleasant shopping experience! Although we could find nothing to substitute I appreciate the fact that someone physically went through parts and LOOKED. I may have to scan the internet to find this discontinued part - BUT AT LEAST SOMEONE TRIED TO GO THE EXTRA MILE. Thank you!“
