As a professional bagpiper performing at every cemetery in Southern California since 1981, I have have a high level of experience when it comes to rating these important memorial parks. In fact, I am the house piper for the SoCal Forest Lawn properties. Most parks are good to above average. Rose Hills and Forest Lawn are huge and have a high standard. And expensive. On the other hand, I find Green Hills to be top grade. I have performed services there for 15 years. The difference is the staff. Every worker is kind, approachable, and has the right answer for any question. Notably, I am sure this is a result of the amazing general manager Mike Lamay. I was impressed today that he was at this large graveside service, personally helping the family. A GM right on the front lines. I had a moment to speak with two of the funeral directors and learned how well all the staff works together and that Mike effectively creates a great workplace atmosphere. Impressive for sure. There are countless cemeteries in Southern California but the location and weather here, is the best. On the hottest day in the Southland, it is pleasant here with the ocean breeze. If you can choose your final resting place, choose Green Hills. Great job Mike! Scottish Pipes and Drums is headquartered in Woodland Hills.“

He not only took it out but cleaned around his marker as well. Also he told me to go to the front office to make sure that the flowers that I had just placed are not to be tossed, being that this week tomorrow and Thursday are maintenance days. If you're in the mood for some spine-tingling, hair-raising fun in broad daylight, Sunnyside Cemetery in Long Beach is the place to be! Nestled between the palm trees and sunshine, this cemetery has just enough eerie vibes to give you chills while you soak up that coastal warmth.

Beware the giggling ghost of Mr. Tiddles, the old cemetery cat, who loves to sneak up on unsuspecting visitors and brush against their legs (or is it just the wind? ?). And don’t even get me started on the mysterious whistling—sure, it could be the ocean breeze, but legend has it, it's Old Man Jenkins, trying to finish a tune he started in 1912! ?

Tombstones here tilt at weird angles as if they've had one too many ghostly cocktails, and if you're lucky (or unlucky), you might just hear the infamous 'tap-tap-tap' of the long-lost gardener's shovel. ? Is he still working? No one knows.
