“Scope: Master suite remodel including major bathroom changes (moving toilet, sinks, and drains) in north La Verne.
Sales and design process: Gus and Kate worked together to visit the site, take measurements, collect our thoughts, and propose a design with high resolution 3D rendering. We gave them a paint color, and they designed around it to meet all of our goals. The price was middle of the pack, but our certainty in our decision was high based on rendering and team experience. They achieve “luxury for less” by having a limited showroom and using off-brand but highly rated fixtures, and non-custom cabinetry. The trade-off to not having name-brand fixtures and cabinets was slight color differences on the negative, however, it resulted in much simplified decision making on our part, as we did not have to hunt down materials on their schedule. This resulted in lower stress and on-time installation.
Installation: Sami is the crew chief and owner. He has high standards, meaning that I didn’t have to exert quality control on his crews, he took responsibility. He has enough experience to make sure things get done right and also to make real-time recommendations and design changes. Every change he suggested improved the outcome. Change orders were reasonably priced, for example, when we increased the size of a door. He demonstrated flexibility when we canceled a water softener and understanding when contract language was unclear regarding painting of window trim. I never got the sense that they were trying to take advantage of us. Finish quality was very good. They genuinely cared that we were happy.
Project Management: In additional to Sami, Gus came over almost every day to assure the project was on track and materials were ready. Kate researched products and queued up decisions by group text, which was efficient. Project Management was present, a great improvement compared to projects done by two other companies.
Service: There was an error in some plumbing in the wall, which required opening the wall under the sink after the project was complete and paid for. This was done promptly and without complaint. Sami assured us that they will be here to service us for at least a year after project completion. I trust him.”
