“When I was planning this remodel I just wasn’t sure on when to start and how it would work with my schedule. I was not in town for most of the project. That was the whole reason I kept dragging my feet on it. I did not want to manage a remodel from a different state. Sounded like a terrible idea. But the house needed work badly and there was no point in waiting anymore. I was initially very worried. Asking myself can I trust the contractor will they answer me, will the job keep moving and so on. With quality first builders I felt early on that the answer was yes to everything. I met with Rudy for the first meeting, and once the contract was signed, I received a very detailed breakdown of all the design items from the design team. This email literally had everything in it, questions, links to things, vision boards etc. This was a lot more help than I expected given the fact that I wouldn’t be in town when a lot of the finishes were going to be needed. We scheduled in-person shopping dates for the days I was in town and other things were chosen online.

They kept me in the loop the entire time with updates, photos and quick answers to everything. Their communication was absolutely top notch.
And then I came back and it was just... done. That is probably the biggest compliment I can give them. The whole thing took up way less mental energy than I thought it would and the place feels really good now. Very very glad I did not keep putting it off. Kudos to Quality First Builders for impeccable work from start to finish.“

“Jonathan came recommended through a friend of ours who worked with him on her remodel and gave nothing but a glowing review. We had no other friends who could, in good faith, recommend their former contractors, so we immediately knew he was something special.

We were looking to add a new room to our house as an ADU above the garage. Many other companies we spoke to either quoted astronomically high or were simply unresponsive. Jonathan was immediately a very clear communicator, a straight shooter, and offered solutions that others did not propose to make all of our asks a reality.

After the initial meeting, we threw in a curveball of wanting to replace all of the windows and doors on the main house as well. He was able to fold this into the plans and re-adjust the schedule and price accordingly. He is a diligent time manager and kept each part of the process moving, and even nudging us when the ball was in our court.

Most importantly, he is extraordinarily responsive. Whatever question we had (and we had a lot of them), he would take the time to clearly explain the details of the situation. He and his team are professional and courteous (shout out to Carlos!) and, since we stayed in the house during the re-model, aimed to make the process as unobtrusive as possible.

We even asked him a question two months after the job finished and he responded immediately and helped send a team to handle what we needed. Above and beyond.

“I highly recommend L.A. Dwelling! Their design expertise and creative ideas were so valuable in the process of designing and remodeling our kitchen. I specifically worked with Alison and Anna, and they were both cheerful, easy to work with, and provided great advice and pro tips that made our kitchen plan so much better than we originally thought. They helped us brainstorm, got a sense of our style preferences, and proposed great designs. One highlight was the creative idea of moving our laundry machines (which were located in the corner of our kitchen) into our back porch area. This allowed us to have more counter space and cabinetry in the kitchen, and a designated laundry room by closing off the back porch area. It was a brilliant idea, and we are so pleased with the result. They also had the idea of building a shelf for the kitchen that matched the wood work in the other parts of our Craftsman-style home. This was such a nice touch that tied in the kitchen design beautifully with the style accents of the rest of our home. They were patient with us in the many versions of the design, until we got it just right. They were able to point us to resources of where to look for specific items we wanted (like cabinet hardware, tiling, range hood) to match the interior of our Craftsman home. They were also very resourceful and helped us find creative solutions to stay within our budget range. Their know-how and calm, pleasant personalities eased my mind as we were going through this project. Our kitchen turned out beautiful and we are enjoying it so much!“

“This review is LONG overdue, however, my recent experience with Shirry reminded me that I must post a review. In 2014, I had the pleasure of working with Shirry Dolgin of ASD Interiors, along with Bo Siton of A List Construction. My husband and I did a full remodeling of our kitchen, and a portion of our den. This included cabinets, appliances, flooring, lighting, painting, plumbing fixtures and window treatments. The design also included a wonderful desk area, with cabinets for the printer and tower. Shirry's design ideas were creative, and her color palette, beautiful. Bo's team was consistently on time and cleaned up the work area each day. Shirry was always available by phone, when we needed to reach her. They set up a microwave and refrigerator in our dining room and we stayed in our home during the remodel. As is always the case, there was a small hiccup with a support beam, but they got the right people out to determine the solution, and we were back on track. We love our kitchen! Fast forward five years, and our bedroom needed a refresh. Shirry was the only person we would consider. Shirry spent time with us for a consultation and understood our budget constraints and worked within them. Shirry created a simple, classic, and beautifully serene master bedroom. It was a minor refresh which included paint, carpeting, window treatments, bedding, lamps, placement of art, and accessorizing an existing wall unit. The contractors that she works with for the painting, carpeting, and window treatments were dependable and their work, excellent. The bottom line is we love our bedroom as much as our kitchen! We would use both Shirry of ASD Interiors and Bo Siton again. Take my advice, and you will not be disappointed.“
