Before I begin, a very special thank you to Dr. Alan Goldhamer for establishing and maintaining TrueNorth for the past 40 years.
I first learned about Dr. Goldhamer by listening to his first interview with Rich Roll about five years ago. It made me curious. Although I have been doing 36 hour water only fasts twice a month for the past 10 years, I could not imagine doing a 14 day, 21 day, or let alone a 40 day water only fast.
Earlier this year, after completing a 6.5 day water only fast and experiencing clear benefits, I decided to commit to a 14 day fast at the TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California. I flew from Gainesville, Florida and arrived on Dec 8. Fasting began on Dec 9.
From the initial booking, followed by a free consultation call, to the reception, the room service, medical monitoring three times per day, educational classes, spotless cleanliness, and the exceptionally well trained, service oriented staff, every step confirmed that I made the right decision by coming here.
Their fasting and refeeding protocols are backed by 26 peer reviewed clinical studies published in major medical journals, documenting real cases of chronic disease states showing significant clinical improvement through this simple intervention.
When a friend heard about my fasting, he wrote: “Too austere.” Interestingly, he is diabetic.
