The yards are wonderful, the staff, loving, 'dog' educated, a trainer on staff, and all have one thing in common, they unconditionally love dogs. We have been fortunate to know the owner John and all staff. Training, day camp, overnight boarding, exercise, puzzles, water play, LDI has it all. Most importantly, they also teach the pup while there how to be a better dog, and since we have 2 rescue dogs from Central Mexico, one of whom is blind, and now 1.5 yrs of age, he can get frustrated easily. Spartacus plays with sighted dogs and does very well, though when he starts getting 'upset' staff is there to redirect, and help him through his ordeal. Our other dog, Hercules has gone to LDI since he was 4.5 months old. He is now 2 yrs old! “I am extremely happy with the training at Matan and have recommended Matan Dog Training to many people. I currently attend the group classes with Amelia ongoing. She is a fantastic and experienced trainer and each class is different, challenging the dogs and owners with different exercises and scenarios. I was also able to work with owner Matan in a few classes. It is clear that he not only loves dogs but he has extensive knowledge regarding their behavior and their training.

I have a working line German Shepherd who was a MAJOR handful. She used to bark and growl at all dogs and walking her was a huge chore. She was extremely reactive. She will always be a reactive natured dog who does not like to be around other dogs, but by attending the group classes she has learned that it is ok to be around dogs, and that she needs to be obedient and appropriate even when she is feeling uncomfortable. This training keeps her on track so that now she can be walked on the street with no or minimal reaction to other dogs. Most of the time she just looks at them now and checks back in with me. It’s really great. Such an improvement.

Additionally, being of working lineage, she always wants something to do. She actually loves the training and can’t wait to go to class. She happily jumps into the car when I say “ do you want to go to work?”. Her heeling, sit stay, down stay and come are all very good from the ongoing work we have done at Matan.
