The staff is friendly and welcoming, with some exceptions. Dr. Wilson and Dr. Medway receive high praise for their excellent care and attention to patients. Dr. Wilson, in particular, is recognized as one of the best doctors, known for her knowledge, kindness, and immediate responses in emergencies. Dr. Love is also noted as a great psychologist who offers helpful tools for coping. While some staff members have been inconsistent, leading to mistakes and patient frustration, the clinic has shown improvement. Despite past issues with face mask policies, many patients have reported positive experiences, feeling well-informed and supported during their visits. Overall, Neighborhood Healthcare San Marcos, Montiel aims to enhance the health and happiness of the community while continuing to work on consistency and communication with patients.
I was so impressed with my entire experience! From Alma, who scheduled my appointment over the phone, to the front desk staff, the medical assistant, and PA Lucy—every single person I encountered was kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
I live in Hacienda Heights and drove all the way to San Marcos because it was the only appointment available, and I don’t regret it for a second. The level of care and compassion I received made the drive completely worthwhile. Even the neighborhood pharmacy in Escondido was friendly and pleasant.

I can not speak highly enough of how every one in every department treats me as an individual. Their computer records system allows everyone to be up to speed on everything I am dealing with.
Dr. Wilson is the best PCP I’ve ever had. She takes her time to know you. She’s very thorough, smart, has a good sense of humor when appropriate, which I find very unique. She gets a thumbs up 👍🏼 from me.
