About Miramar National Cemetery

Miramar National Cemetery is a beautiful and serene place, where the memories and sacrifices of veterans are respected and celebrated. The cemetery is always impeccably maintained, with lush grounds that are kept pristine and well-kept. It's clear that the staff takes great pride in their work, always professional, respectful, and dedicated to ensuring everything runs on time and efficiently. One of the unique aspects of this cemetery is the view of Marine Ospreys, helicopters, and jets flying overhead nearby, a prime example of the military service that these brave men and women have provided to the United States of America. In a way, it is like the present is always honoring the past, while the past watches down on the present like angels. The cemetery provides a quiet atmosphere for visitors to reflect on the service of the military. Visitors find the grounds well-maintained and peaceful, making it a suitable setting for paying respects. The staff ensures a peaceful memorial service, with attention to detail such as the option for horse-drawn carriages and the presence of a bugler and Air Force color guard, which add dignity to the ceremonies. As the cemetery continues to expand, it is growing into a place that will serve generations to come, all while staying conveniently close to the freeway, a gas station, and the nearby Marine base. This makes it accessible for both locals and visitors, further emphasizing its commitment to serving the community and honoring the sacrifices of veterans.

Miramar staff was very competent, professional and so very compassionate. They ensured that my father's service and burial was memorable and respectful. Thank you very much.

Beautiful cemetery to have as a dignified final resting place. Well-maintained and thought out. The Avenue of Flags is the perfect entryway to the different parts of the cemetery. There is a central area honoring all the service branches.

We had a funeral service at one of the shelters; though it was nice, it got very hot on one side. Be prepared for the weather. The sailors performing the honors from flag folding to Taps were impeccable.

Depending on circumstances, your funeral service will be different. Regardless of what happens, it will be dignified and fitting to the one being honored.

Why didn't they ever plant trees?? If I can't get Point Loma cremation spot then Mira Mar it is but it sure would be more pleasant for family members visiting if there were trees.
