“I needed to remove a tall and very robust Magnolia tree and an unattractive Japanese Black Pine from my property, so I contacted two tree removal companies for bids. Of the two companies that bid on the job, Pedro from CM Precision Tree & Landscape Service thoughtfully considered the task and offered the lowest bid by a considerable amount.
The five man crew showed up a few days later and got right to work removing both trees. They were very efficient with both the tree removal and the subsequent clean-up. My personal experience with CM and their crew was so favorable that I would use them again in the future if needed. “We worked with Project Manager Joe Hillel on a non-dwelling “rebuild” of our outdoor shed to go from an 100 year old crumbling, leaking garage with existing plumbing for laundry to a beautiful well-made out building for laundry, tools and stuff and a full bathroom followed by reconstruction/remodel of our only interior bathroom. The “rebuild” is in quotes because we required by the city to rebuild rather than build new. Really though, it is hard to see what remains from the original, and that is a very good thing because it had wood rot, termite damage, etc. Our experience was very good. Joe and the office team worked through San Diego’s very long and tedious permit application process - a process that is not for the impatient or faint of heart!

Once we were able to begin construction, we truly appreciated and were impressed by the communication that happened throughout the process between Joe as the Project Manger and George, the Foreman as well as George and the crew. Everyone was reliable, conscientious, and demonstrated respect for our little part of San Diego, which in our experience is not something all crews and companies do. Additionally, we consistently saw other folks from the main office come through to take pictures and check in on progres, or come by for inspections.

We are very happy with our new out building - we call it “The Out House” - and our interior bathroom and look forward to enjoying them for many, many years to come.

I am not yet ready to think our future projects (it is an old house and there will be future projects…), but when it is time, we call Joe H. at Designs4You. He cares about the work, customer satisfaction, and brings lots of experience to the project. Perhaps most importantly, he is an involved project manager.“

“Five Stars. Third Time was the Charm!

This was our third attempt at getting our landscaping done right. My wife and I had been very unhappy with two previous landscapers, so when we reached out to Breceda Landscaping for a quote, our expectations were guarded. That changed the moment Teran and Eric came out to the house.

I was immediately impressed with their professionalism and deep knowledge of plants, specifically what will and will not thrive in Scripps Ranch. Our area can be a tough place to grow certain plants because of the soil, and we also have large pine trees behind our house that drop needles, so we needed plants that could handle the added acidity. Teran and Eric understood all of this right away and planned accordingly.

What really set them apart was the communication. They asked a lot of questions up front, kept us informed of progress throughout the project, and consistently asked for our feedback on the plants they were suggesting. They were also genuinely open to pivoting when we had a different idea. I told them I wanted my backyard to look tropical, like something out of Maui. They did not disappoint! My wife and I were blown away by how the yard turned out. It went beyond our expectations.

They also upgraded our irrigation system, and we can't wait to watch everything grow over the next few years.

Both Teran and Eric are very accessible by phone/text and truly value your opinion as the homeowner. They really care. After two disappointing experiences with other companies, working with Breceda was a night and day difference. Highly recommend!“

“Better Place revitalized our back yard, turning it into an oasis that visitors have praised and enjoyed. The artificial turf installed in our front and back yard is stunning. The outdoor kitchen is gorgeous and fun. Their communication and follow-up to our questions was impeccable all of the way until the project was completed, and then we didn't hear from them again. They built a cinder block wall enclosure for a jacuzzi we shipped to the home. However, the design did not allow any access to the jacuzzi components. There is a wood deck around the top of the jacuzzi, but no door. I regret not discovering this until after the project was finished and I had signed the paperwork. I turned on the jacuzzi and realized that when it had been installed, something within the components was not working correctly. I sent text messages and e-mails to Better Place, but received no responses. I hired a contractor to build a door so that we (and future owners of our home) can reach the components. But now we have discovered that one of the wooden support beams blocks the door to the components, so it would be impossible to repair or make adjustments to the jacuzzi until I hire another contractor to rework the deck and move the support beam. The project finished in July 2023, but the only part we haven't been able to enjoy is the jacuzzi.

***Update: Better Place contacted me within a day of seeing this review and the owner himself came out to my home to check on the jacuzzi enclosure. Already yesterday the wooden support beam blocking access to the components was removed. Very impressed with the customer service! And we will be able to get our jacuzzi working.“
