Health Spa Napa Valley Spa

“I originally came across Health spa Napa valley on resortpass.com, but ended up booking through them directly for massages for three friends and me during a trip to Napa. We enjoyed our services and had a nice time relaxing by the pool. Christina was super helpful - she ordered us lunch from the restaurant next door and brought it to us by the pool, and also managed to rescue my watch after I left it in the robe pocket! We will be back!“

“The check in process was easy and Gina, our host was awesome! Both of us scheduled massages back to back. You pick from four fresh herbs which your therapist uses to make both aroma and oil for your treatment. Our therapist Bridget was excellent and went above and beyond. I had the 50 minute Zenith... Locker room was clean and neat. Shower was good after figuring out how the two handles operated the water from the rain shower and handheld. The ladies room shower water pressure was terrible. Annoyingly they add a 20% service charge of which ONLY 15% goes to the therapist. Prices are high so be prepared to drop $300 or more if you tip 20% So glad we are not staying at the hotel...see separate review.“

“I planned a Ladies trip to Napa and scheduled mud bathes and a massage for my clients. The service is awesome, we actually stayed in Windsor and had about a 45 minute drive. As traffic held us up the receptionist was very understanding and ensured we would still make our time slots. Thank you for excellent mud bathes and massage services.“

“This is a boutique hotel with 33 rooms (I believe) and a few cottages. The main building is a 2-story, registered historical landmark. The hotel is over 100 years old and it's maturity is part of its charm. There was some work being performed in a guestroom on the 2nd floor but they worked on it for short periods every day. Love the strategy. There is no insulation on guestroom doors so it's easy to hear conversations and heavy slamming doors. There is no elevator so the 2nd floor doesn't appear to be Accessible. There are rooms on the 1st level however. The jacuzzi was wonderful and hot Tuesday morning but lukewarm on Thursday morning. Front desk staff state every now and then a guest inadvertently turns it off, and did so Wednesday night by pressing the Emergency button (instead of the timer for the jets). Bummer. It took hours for it to reheat. Maybe a sign for the jets could discourage that from happening again. Check In & Staff: Male staff were friendly and helpful - especially Manny!! The hotel does have a luggage cart but it won't help those staying on the 2nd floor since there is no elevator. However 2 of the guys volunteered to follow me outside to the car to retrieve my luggage. Soooo much appreciated! They not only carried them upstairs to my room but came back to carry them again when I relocated to a different room. They wouldn't even except a tip! Thanks guys! My heros. Other staff: The female staff at the front desk wasn't as friendly but maybe she had an off couple days. No eye contact, acknowledgement, or smile. She did engage however when spoken to. All other staff - housekeeping (especially), maintenance, painters, etc., were genuinely friendly and helpful. It made my stay relaxing which was much needed! Thanks again. Breakfast: Staff prepare a daily breakfast tray that's delivered to each room at your preferred time. Breakfast consisted of FRESH and DELICIOUS breads, lemon cake, a tangerine, and a warm pot of mild-blend coffee. Room: Towels were fluffy, soft, good-smelling, and appeared new! The linen and robes were fresh and clean. The room was well furnished and the environment inviting. The bed was on the firm side but was very comfortable. I had to remember not to sit on the edge too long though because the ribbing on the edge of the mattress hurt. There was no bottled water in the room but there was a carafe to be filled with ice/water at the Hydration Station located on the 1st floor. It would have been nice to have a Station upstairs too or bottles of water for upstairs guests. Having a mini fridge and safe in the room was a nice touch. A microwave somewhere for guests (use) would have been nice for reheating leftovers. Window screens would have been nice to enjoy fresh air in the room without bugs. Bathtub stopper should probably be replaced because it was old, discolored, and soiled. Bathroom walls could use a little touch-up paint but none of those issues were big deal breakers for me. The things that could have definitely been better in the room were the loud bathroom fan (and the inability to turn it off independently from the light switch) and the hum from the mini fridge. The fridge clicks on/off 24/7, and at night when its quiet the hum is annoying. Glad I brought adapters for electronics since there are standard electrical outlets only, and no place to plug in USB cords. Check Out: Payment for your room is deducted from your credit card at the beginning of your stay when you check in. To check out you can drop your room keys in the box at the front desk. I chose to wait (10 minutes) for staff to return to the desk for a receipt. Value: I didn't visit the hotel spa this visit. However even with the Spring Special the hotel seems a bit overpriced, and without the spa is probably closer to a 3-star hotel. Caveat though is that everything in Calistoga appears to be overpriced - after all it's a resort town. Love the peace and tranquility though. Overall a really nice stay and I definitely recommend.“

“Girls getaway and made reservations for an hour massage. Reservations give you access to their mineral pools for up to 2 hours, before or after your treatment . The massage was wonderful, Mack was great. His technique, pressure and professionalism was outstanding. When you enter the lobby, you will be brought to the locker rooms and given a key for your locker. There are 2 restrooms and a shower. After locking up your belongings you will proceed to the waiting area where you will be greeted by your therapist. There are 2 pools in the family area and a jacuzzi. There is one adult pool, nextdoor. I would have loved to give this spa 5 stars, but the steam room was under construction and there isn't an entry from the spa to the pool area. The pools are in the center of the hotel property. Also disappointed that the spa robes don't have pockets.“
