“Dr. Heather D. Angell, MD is a board-certified emergency medical physician who has been currently treating my rare medical condition called Hemifacial Spasm (HFS). I came to her after my other doctor of several years retired. After giving her a background on the length of time I’ve had this and the possible cause Dr. Angell provided me with more knowledge in order to help me on my journey towards recovery. First, she suggested DySport as an alternative to Botox (after more research this is a better option for me), then she has balanced out my facial symmetry due to long-term use of having Botox on one side of my face, and she lastly, suggested other type of doctors to go to and what they could use to give me more long-term results (a TENS machine). Unfortunately, her med spa doesn’t take my current insurance so this has been a quarterly out-of-pocket expense for me. However, during my next appointment I’ll ask her to send me an email of her medical notes, photos, and video documentation of my HFS treatment plan so I can give them to my medical providers covered under my insurance. I appreciate the newfound knowledge she’s provided and I look forward to a more permanent solution and cure for my condition.”
