Acupuncture in Reseda

“On January 24, 2026, I posted this review on yelp and felt compelled to also post it here as well:
My only concern on posting this review is that Dr. Lu may get so popular and so busy, posing fewer choices for me to make an appointment.
I'm 73, I first visited Dr. Lu nearly a year ago due to a painful/swollen right knee. I could barely bend it. At the end of the first treatment (20+ minutes) a good portion of the pain had gone replaced with improved mobility; after a couple followups I was back on my treadmill. I had other health issues that needed attention; one was centered around the function of my heart, which in my opinion was related to poor sleep... often waking up with an immobilizing stiff and painful neck, most likely stress related. His approach, true to TCM, was to threat the specific area as well as the whole body. I've been receiving weekly treatments resulting in greater neck mobility, eliminating the pain, and most importantly not waking up with a stiff neck for many months now.
A few days ago, I experienced a painful inflammation centered at the base/joint of my left thumb, making it impossible to grab/turn a door knob. I had no idea of its cause. In a single acupuncture session, the pain had not only diminished, but within two to three days the pain/swelling had vanished; grabbing/turning a door knob was no longer an issue. The following week visit, even he was taken back by the speedy recovery.
The takeaway in my 30+ years of seeing acupuncturist is that usually TCM is not a quick fix, it takes a number of visits to heal, other times major improvements may occur with just one treatment. It goes without saying that Dr. Lu vast knowledge played a crucial role in all my healings. A master in the art of acupuncture!

As of June 20, 2026 I am updating my experience with Dr. Lu: This last Wednesday I developed a non-stop excruciating pain on my left thumb that extended all the way to my wrist; I couldn't even grab the door knob to turn it. The continuous pain persisted all night into the next day. It just so happened that I had an appointment with Dr. Lu for a severe stiff neck that I've been waking up with on an ongoing basis for many years due to stress and tension. Since I've been seeing him I can't remember the last time I had a stiff neck, but that's another story.
By the time I left his office the pain in my thumb had 60% vanished and kept lessening by evening. By next morning I was able, with some difficulty, turn the door knob, by evening I had no pain and was able to grab things as if I never had any problem to begin with.
Dr. Lu has a gift for narrowing down to the exact cause of the problem and place the needles exactly where it's necessary to speed up the healing process. Actually about a year ago I had an issue with an inflamed knee where I couldn't bended it. The outcome then was very similar, by the time I left his office, albeit it took a few days for the knee swelling to fully go away while resuming 100% use of my leg. I have not had any problems with my knee since in spite of walking anywhere from 6-12 miles a day.“
