“I have been working with Karina, specialist in outward funerals to Mexico, at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel to coordinate my brother’s funeral; she is nothing short of fantastic. We planned to have a viewing on site, transport of my brother to my hometown in Mexico and another viewing there along with a burial.
The viewing at Mehl’s was very welcoming and accommodating. Another employee, Ofelia, stayed with us until closing and was constantly checking in and making accommodations as needed. For example, she would bring extra vases and stands for every single bouquet of flowers brought by visitors. She made every adjustment as needed and asked.
Karina has worked with me diligently every step of the way. She would give constant updates, no matter how small the change, to make sure I was fully in the loop. Any question I had, no matter how seemingly trivial at times, was answered promptly and cordially.
Moreover, Karina made sure my contacts in Mexico were sound and even warned me of potential dangers/scams plaguing grieving families: for example, cemetery site employees/owners will try to coerce people into buying a second coffin, claiming invalidity on the already purchased coffin. Despite this being an issue within local cemeteries, and not Mehl’s, she was adamant in making sure I was aware of not only the problem but that the consulate of Mexico had received certification of the validity of the coffin; with the latter piece of information to be used to de-merit the bogus claims of the cemetery site tricksters. I would’ve likely fallen for this nasty trick, in my own state of grief, had I not been informed. I can not thank Karina, and the other staff at Mehl’s, enough in aiding the quelling of all of my family’s anxiety during this difficult time; they truly took charge of the process and gave me all the tools to manage the other processes outside of their jurisdiction.
I treated everyone at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel with respect and was met with the same sentiment and warmth.“
