“Gerry Blanck's Martial Arts School is one of the best dojos and best martial arts academy not only in Pacific Palisades but in Los Angeles as well. I've been a student at this dojo and I've seen first hand how Gerry and his professional instructors such as Sensei Liam, Jake, Art, Mark, etc. train students to be disciplined and well versed in the martial arts school of Yoshikai. They instill values of striving for excellence, respect, faith, perseverance, and refraining from violent behavior. They have classes six days a week which include karate classes for children or kids as young as 3 yrs old (they are so cute to watch!) to karate for senior adults (who are inspirational!). Aside from karate, they offer self defense, weapons and kickboxing which I enjoy because it's good for my cardio and stamina. Their students also have gotten various trophies in competitions in California and other states. Only the best training here, indeed! This dojo has been in Pacific Palisades for over four decades. It's a pillar of the community due to Gerry's expertise, patience, and care for all his students. Students and families look forward to coming to this top martial arts school to better themselves as well as to connect with others. Thank you Sensei Gerry and staff!“

“Honestly one of the most genuine Kyokushin Karate experiences you'll find in California. Regularly visit tournaments and are serious about earning your belt through difficult kihon and sparring. If you're serious about learning and experiencing full contact karate I'd highly recommend. Great staff as well.“

“I have been a student for over eight years and my experience has been amazing. The style of teaching here under Master Sampson and the other wonderful sensei’s, can best be described with three words- mind, body and spirit. I’ve not only gained the physical forms and techniques, but the mental toughness and spiritual enlightenment as well in a fun, almost lighthearted environment. In addition, their focus on giving personal attention to each student, from young to old, and all walks of life, makes this dojo the ultimate place to learn Kenpo Karate!“

“I started training with Master Kim in 1994 in the old Robertson Studio when I was six years old. I didn't know what to expect going in but I will tell you one thing - It was one of the best things that my parents put me into. Master Kim not only taught me the art and practice of taekwondo he taught me how to respect my elders, he taught me how to be a good person and help those in need. Not only that, Kim taught me how to persevere through failure and be driven to win on a daily basis. I remember when I took my first degree black belt test in 1998 - I failed the first time. I was devastated. Master Kim didn't give on me - he coached me 1 on 1, he pushed me to the point of where i considered giving up - but I pushed myself and sure enough on the second attempt I passed. Being a leader in the business world today, I can honestly say that the lessons Master Kim taught me from a very young age allowed me to be driven and be able to persevere through any obstacle that stands in my way. Thank you Master Kim!!! I hope to see you very soon! Next time I am in LA I will drop by the studio! Matthew Forest“
