“Love these ladies. Our school identified lice four weeks ago and notified a few families, we were not included in the notification and as one might imagine, people don’t realize that even if you don’t see lice the eggs could have already been laid and 10 days later another person and another person and a sibling then a teacher. It’s not a dirt thing, lice love clean scalps to feed on. A friend in our circle started feeling itchy, note only 50% of people with lice feel an itch - so we hired Pam to come check 15 people in our circle - 6 adults and 9 kids. We identified 4 kids and 2 adults that needed egg and lice removal. Some had it since the school notified people (but this family was not notified, the school might not have realized that these kids see one another outside of school even though not in the same class). Kids want to show one another something and their heads are close together and a lice crawls from one strand of hair to another- they don’t jump, they don’t fly, they don’t travel on animals- they just crawl from one strand of hair when two heads are together reading a book or watching an iPad, or on a strand of hair that comes out when brushed and then that brush touches another head. We need to be open, notify one another and reduce the stigma- Pam is the key to that!! She is a mom, her and Diana are calm, informative and gentle with the families.
