This is a shout-out to Ohana Organics for their highly effective Kava Butter. Shortly after rubbing just a tiny bit of the butter on my arthritic thumbs and toes the discomfort fades away. The relief lasts for hours. I have used many OTC pain-relieving creams, including cannabis-infused. Some of them have strong smells I don’t like. This was my first time doing a Float therapy. The staff were so friendly and made me feel at home as soon I good there. Everything I could need was provided. Honestly the best barber in Humboldt. A lot of barbers don’t like to deal with kids even 12 & 15 years old but he doesn’t mind. My youngest son suffers from ADHD. Christian teaches my son social skills and how to talk to people and greet people which I like a lot.
At my last appointment, I got the straight edge razor shave and hair cut. What an awesome way to spend an hour! My go to spot for hair cuts, and now shaves!

Jean is the best! I was diagnosed With Melanoma cancer right before the pandemic and afterwards I struggled to find a new lease on life. What better way to live than explore my identity which I did with hair color, haircuts, and perms, yes, they still exist. Jean was there for me, doing whatever I asked and I am cancer free! It made me realize how precious life is and how much fun it could be. I'd forgotten. Hair grows as we do so go out and have some fun with your hair, it's the least we can do. We recently had North Coast Floor & Tile tear out existing flooring in laundry, kitchen, living and dining rooms in a rental & replace with vinyl plank. They also tore out an existing shower & reinstalled new schluter system at pan & replaced some tile and some damaged flooring. We are very happy with the completed work. From the first estimate by Stefan to the informative help from Sales Consultants Brittany & Kerry in the showroom to installation of vinyl plank by Jim, shower & tile replacement by Isaac, they were professional, helpful & on time and did what they said they would do at a reasonable cost.

Greenwired installed a mini split heat pump at my rental home with an outdoor compressor unit and 3 indoor units. They were very professional, conducted work on time, and were very responsive to me.
We hired Eric and crew to build a fence around our garden (over 100'). We had an idea of how we wanted it to look but sometimes it’s hard to convey your vision to those doing the work. Eric came by to look at the project and asked all the right questions. He also made a few great suggestions that we hadn’t considered. The fence is one of the first things you see as you come down our driveway so we wanted it to be nice. In the end the fence came out beautifully, better than we had hoped! And we haven’t had a deer in the garden since.We also hired Eric to rebuild a section of fence (not the garden fence thankfully) destroyed by a giant branch that fell out of a very large redwood tree. Eric rebuilt it to match the garden fence and it looks fantastic!We definitely plan on hiring him again to help design and build a new deck on our house. He also had some great ideas about that which we hadn’t thought of.100% would hire again!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Dr. Palmer! I was in a tough spot because no one else in town would help me with the extraction of a tricky tooth under a crown. They told me I’d have to see an oral surgeon who was booked out for three months! Luckily, Dr. Palmer stepped up and agreed to take care of it for me.
I can’t express how much I appreciated his expertise and compassion, especially since I was in so much pain. He really adapted to the situation and made me feel confident about returning for a dental implant down the road. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my bone graft healed, and the cost was exactly what I was quoted initially—no surprise charges for the extra care I needed!

The place is fabulous. We saw a very young man veterinarian who was just so sweet and caring and knowledgeable and gave us good information and seems really care about our dog.
My cat has always gone here and everyone that works here is very caring and attentive with her. The vet techs love my cat and always give her lots of pets. They are very good with knowing when my cat has had enough of something so as to not stress her out too much. If you ever need extra time to pay for vet expenses, they have pamphlets there for CareCredit. The pamphlets have a QR code to quickly sign up for the credit card. After you are approved, they can look up your card and put your charges on your card. I did this when I had to pay $2700 when my cat got sick.
Whole staff is amazing and very kind. Service with a smile is a rare occurrence in these parts of California. The staff here was always super kind and helpful.
They've been helping me care for my furbabies for over ten years. Non-urgent appointments can be scheduled as far as six weeks out, but my cats are very good with the doctors there, so I won't take them anywhere else.
We’ve been going to Myrtle Ave Vet for over 15 years now with our cats and dogs and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Over the years they’ve helped us with emergencies that turned out to not be actual emergencies, real emergencies that ended in surgery, new puppies, cancer treatment, old aging dogs that needed lots of care, and dogs that have passed over the rainbow bridge with their help. They’re always professional, kind, and truly go above and beyond to help.

My “babies”love Lynn and she’s very accommodating when I need to get somebody in short notice but she’s also fair to her customers about booking. She won’t bump me to get someone else in. She is no nonsense and that’s important to know because she’s very knowledgeable and when she is explaining you better be listening because she’is a upbeat, usually high energy little petite thing with a heart and love for these babies that come to her that she gives unapologetically and freely. I’ve been taking my babies to Lynn for 9 years it will be 10 years next August. I would never go anywhere else, period. My babies love her and that’s all I really need to know. I know this. Because if I say her name, my oldest babies go straight to the car and whine or bark to get to “ go see Miss Lynn.” And you know why? Because, she treats them like they’re her own. She and Pampered Pooches are a staple in our community so I give them 5 stars. They also helped with the bigger problem of fleas this year as well. I wouldn’t trust my babies with just anyone, but I trust PP to take care of them. I can sometimes take her 3 at a time and have them all back in 2-3 hours. I highly recommend her and her staff. Also and this is important to know. She’s not just about the money; she actually cares about what she’s doing. Sorry for the novel but I get carried away when it comes to Pampered Pooches. A postpartum gift from a friend, this massage was lovely. Julia has a grounded, peaceful presence that encourages a quiet massage, focusing on the pleasure of the kneading, so I wasn’t needing to talk. While she gave permission to speak up regarding the amount of pressure and music choice, I was pleased with both. I opted in for the guided meditation, which required the completion of a short prompt, due 24 hours before the massage. The prompt and guided meditation attached objective and imagery to the relaxed state of my physical body that I am still carrying with me, even after the massage.
In only a few sessions, quality of life has improved drastically, and everything from merely putting my feet up, to a full day of work or adventuring the redwoods; I feel lighter and more agile, with a greater range of movement. I remember what it was like before my accident, and I feel genuine progress has been made in my journey to recovery.

Just saw Tami after a couple years away from this important part of my healing journey and MAN did I miss her. I feel sooo much better. I'm so grateful for Tami and her uncanny ability to tune into my body and know exactly where I'm stuck and where the pain points are. She the Mr. Miagi to my Karate Kid and I couldn't be more grateful to resume this important part of my healing practice. Of all the years of body work I've invested in, my time with Tami has been the most productive. I highly recommend her services if you're a Humboldt local or even just visiting, this is time, energy, and money well spent.

Katharine is so great! She really takes the time to understand what problems you're trying to work through. I feel listened to by her. Her massage was really great, and I left feeling much better. Her space is wonderful too. It's super peaceful and clean. I am looking forward to continuing to work with her on my years-long chronic pain!

4’ 10” and 75 lbs of elbows, knees and incomprehensibly strong hands named “Jun” just gave me the best massage I’ve ever had, and I’ve had over a hundred. The other places can all shut down now; this was absolutely superb. My only complaint is that I got one hour instead of two: I’ll be back in a few days getting at least two hours but more likely three.
Background: I’ve broken my right patella twice, have an injury at T-4 from a 20’ fall out of a tree and a wrecked left shoulder: a doctor called in his sleep-deprived residents from their homes so they could see it, feel it, ooh and ahh at it and they were grateful. My work is now driving a big rig and tailgating a full trailer of cabinets every few days. I unload 16 tons, but I do it by hand and I do it every year.
Lots of other stuff, but these are the big ones and earlier that week I’d twisted my back by the extreme and noble exertion of putting on my left sock, so I had difficulty even walking in: I was debating between a massage, chiropractor or coroner with leanings toward the latter. Many an experienced undertaker would have been deceived and begun embalming me on the spot. But I walked in with the grace of a Dalek on river rock, experienced the joy that is taking your pants off when you can’t bend your spine and in walked this bit of sassy Asian fluff who asked me if I preferred hard or soft. I said hard and not one word more.
So yes: if you have a legitimate problem with intense, debilitating muscular pain then this is your place.
(Brief aside: she gave a scalp massage which is therapeutically worthless but felt so incredible that I proposed on the spot. She only thinks I was joking.)
HOKEY SMOKES! IT WAS AMAZING! I was totally stressed, I mean TOTALLY STRESSED after a software upgrade and subsequent Tech Support calls which left me with the headache from Hell, plus 40 years of moving heavy boxes into ridiculous places, sitting around for several hours, and then moving the boxes out again has left me with assorted chronic pains and I do not like to be constantly taking pain meds. For 90 minutes I could forget all that and just say "aaaah". Like the Terminator, I'll be back.

Humboldt Driving School turned my life around. I was handicap when I was in my late 20s, not knowing how to drive or do anything right. They taught me one of the most crucial lessons of my entire existence, seeing as I am now, a professional driver for a living. My quality of life skyrocketed shortly after the lessons.
