“We obtained proposals from two contractors, including San Diego Landcare Systems Inc., to upgrade our front and back yards, based on a plan we contracted from an independent landscape architect. Unfortunately, the final plan did not fit within our budget. We worked with Ron Parks to scale back the project, which was then limited to the hardscape elements, e.g. turf removal, paver installation, arbor construction, railroad tie slope pathway construction, boulder installation, and incidental electrical and drainage work. We are very pleased with the final results: the 5 stone paver pattern exceeded our expectations, affording an expansive look to our backyard; the railroad tie pathway had to be redesigned in the field to be practical and aesthetically pleasing; the additional drainage work was a smart call; the arbor built to support the lateral load of our cable shade structure is very sturdy and shows well; and the effort to place the boulders was well coordinated. The work was accomplished in a timely manner. All of the workers were courteous and skillful in their trades. The work area was cleaned up at the end of each work day. Ron and his crew members were responsive to our concerns and discussed with us the schedule and optional construction details. We are enjoying our new look and have proudly shared it with our neighbors, who have been impressed. We do recommend San Diego Landcare Systems Inc. to others.“

“We happened upon GHD by complete luck. When we were unimpressed with another company, we ventured by their showroom and just happened to be lucky enough to meet Mrs. Brown, who impressed us enough to set up an appt with George. Although the pricing we received from GHD was not less than the other company, the service model was much more desirable, and the owners extremely personable. George has his hand in every step of the process. In the end, we were not thrilled with the effort put forth by the individual overseeing our project (general contractor, maybe?), but that didn't matter all that much because George was so heavily involved. For every error the GC made, George had an immediate fix, and the crew was obviously extremely accountable to George multiple times per week; in the end, George was, at least for our project, much more of the GC. Had it not been for George's oversight, I am sure our experience would have been typical of that with the average GC, but with George's involvement, GHD is fantastic. I would easily work with GHD again, just requesting a different GC. I will add, mid project, we ended up with a flooded house (completed unrelated) and George immediately shifted to add that repair to our project list so that we did not have to juggle a repair company with the work already being done. This made what was a nightmare, well, slightly less of a nightmare. ;) I am extremely grateful he was willing to take on that unexpected event also as it made my life a million times easier.
