“Pros: 1st appointment: I saw Gary Vanetsky. He was thorough, took my full history, looked closely at my concern(s), offered me treatments that are covered by insurance, didn't try to upsell me on anything (in fact, I left with a free sample of an OTC at my second appointment which helped me follow his advice without having to make another stop). None of this happened at the dermatology office I went to; he was my second opinion and I'm so glad I went. 2nd appointment: I went back for a full body check and he was incredibly thoughtful, ethical, and made me feel at ease. I initially was set up by the assistant, and I wasn't fully covered up. When he entered the room he immediately turned this into a teaching moment for the assistant telling her how to make sure I was more covered so I could feel more comfortable. This happened without me saying anything about it or expressing any concern, he did it without a second thought. His teaching also sounded kind, which was really nice to hear. All around a really positive experience and I have my third appointment with him coming up. I plan to keep coming back for sure.“

Emily my easthetician made me feel comfortable being that I only had 1 other facial 3 years ago that my wife took me to. Of course with questions about the product being used Emily fully explained what it was and what the benefits of using it were for. All in all I came out feeling like I had a very clean face. “La Jolla Cosmetic Laser Clinic is nestled in the heart of La Jolla. The office is beautiful and offers cookies and coffee in the lobby. The girls at the reception desk greet you as soon as you walk in the door, which is nice. We checked in and waited less than 10 minutes to be seen. We saw Dr. Mani, who is SO incredibly kind and sweet. She made a few suggestions and explained how she thought I could benefit from each product. My friend and I saw her together. My friend wanted Botox in the jaw. Dr. Mani told her she didn’t need it at this time and explained why. I truly respect a doctor that WON’T take your money, just because they can. I have gotten botox in the past and I have paid all different prices. I have to say this was one of the best prices I have paid so far. I think the service and the value for my money was fantastic. Go see Dr. Mani she’s THE BEST.“

“Mr Kojima is an extremely rare medical professional. An absolute master of his Dermatology craft AND a deeply caring, emphatetic and selfless human being. I've trusted him with my life and health from his early days with Sharp in the Miramar area, until now. You will not find a better provider in San Diego! It is mind boggling that people question integrity of these reviews.... also, Mr Kojima's academic title plays zero role in his Dermatology expertise. Absolute nonsense to question his credentials like that.
UPDATE NOV 2024 - I had my twice a year check up with Juan Kojima, where once again did his magic, detected a small but ominous looking abnormality, removed and sent to the lab. The lab confirmed his suspicion BUT also confirmed it was superficial, did not spread. It was caught and removed early. Mr Kojima followed up per protocol and did a subsequent excision, saving one more patient. This is what he does on a daily basis, all in a confident and reassuring way. My PSA is this - schedule your exam and screening with Mr Kojima and that might just save your life. Simple and no exaggeration.“

“Dr. Shahan and his entire staff are excellent! I visited the office to get to the bottom of a "mystery" skin condition which had not been correctly diagnosed by my primary care physician. Dr.Shahan was able to diagnose me within 5 minutes, and get my treatment started immediately. This practice is professional, efficient, and pleasant to work with. ?“

“After Dr. Gigler did a beautiful job on my MOH's skin basal cancer removal on my face, she is the only one I trust with anything to do with cosmetic needs! she is super smart/fast and efficient too. Her group is not in my insurance HMO group which is a bummer but I will pay out of pocket because I trust her.“
