Turns out that the small hole that is at the bottom was blocked with uric acid salts. He cleared that out and taught me that what that small hole does is help push out the solids with a gush of water. When you let urine sit in the toilet (which I was in a habit to do since the drought to save water), salt from your urine can build up there and block that hole. Now I will be sure when cleaning the toilet to make sure to clean that hole, and flush urine more frequently. The toilet flushes soooo much faster and efficiently now.
