Walter was very helpful upfront to advise on arborist approved approach for wide range of oaks - one very mature, another needing care with lot dead growth and third area with oak bushes wanting grow into trees. “We were walking around the Castor and never noticed this small shop before. You walk inside and there is a small room to the left with indoor plants. Some we've seen before, other's we have not. Everything is reasonably prices. We wandered to the back which opens out to an arrangements of outdoor plants, flowers, herbs, a few vegetables. We couldn't pick anything up because we were heading to other places and taking public transportation but we'll be back. We spied some cute strawberry plants.“

“Several years ago, I had used another tree service company to remove some trees in the back yard and grind the stumps down below the surface. A few months afterwards, I used Thomas Allen tree service to remove a tree in the front yard. At the time, Thomas provided excellent value and service. He was responsive to my request for an estimate, on time, ready to start work immediately, and gave a very reasonable quote. I was extremely satisfied with Thomas' work on my front yard tree so when one of the tree stumps in the back yard that was supposed to be killed began to recently grow back I knew who to call. Again, Thomas was responsive, on time, available to start work when I needed, and provided reasonable pricing. “Juan and his team did a fantastic job on my backyard renovation. I can't say enough good things about Juan and would highly recommend him for any landscaping work. Mine was a major backyard renovation. We live in the hills of Belmont, which means to even access our backyard, you had to climb up a steep hill from our side yard. Half of our backyard was made up of a large hill, leaving us with little usable space. We wanted to remove the hill in our backyard, put up a new retaining wall (the old retaining wall has been there since the 60s and contains toxic materials), and install artificial turf. We've gotten a handful of quotes before being referred to Juan. Some folks quoted us double the price Juan gave, some had no experience doing such major renovations, and others just flat-out refused to do such hard work. Juan was knowledgeable and responsive, did not illegally require half of the payment up-front just to get on his schedule, and we felt more comfortable given that he was referred to us by our gardener (we've heard plenty of horror stories where contractors took the money and left the project unfinished, so reliability is #1 for us). We were able to get on Juan's schedule the next week. Juan and his team worked really hard, Monday through Saturday. This was really some of the toughest work imaginable: They have to use jack hammers and various hand-held tools to remove a hill made out of stone, then chisel the remaining hill to make it straight and leveled for the new retaining wall. Because all the houses here are built so closely together, backhoes and dump trucks could not access our yard. Juan's team had to use wheelbarrows to haul out all the concrete and rocks out by going down our steep side yard hill. Likewise, all the heavy wooden posts, retaining wall planks, bags of cement, all had to be manually carried up our side yard hill. Juan did the job perfectly and finished in one month. He didn't cut any corners in order and continued working diligently until the job was fully finished. He really went above and beyond by removing as much of the hill as possible to give us the biggest backyard space we could get. Our yard is beautiful! I look forward to working with him again on our next project.“

“Aaron came within a day or two of our call, to see our yard and provide a proposal. He was very knowedgable about the variety of trees and shrubs in our yard. We were able to schedule the work for 10 days later. We had six trees pruned, including a large mature Cherry and a Privet. Wes was the crew leader, very nice to work with, and Aaron stopped by to review and expedite the work with additional crew. The whole project took less than four hours, the trees look beautiful, our yard was left in perfect, clean condition, no debris went into our neighbors yards, and we get twice the light now into our yard (as well as having healthier trees.“

“The crew led by Cal Agrifolia did a great job from start to finish on the removal of two very large Monterey pines in our front yard. They gave me estimates for the tree removal and explanations of the cost and time frame for the work to be completed. They also went to the city to obtain the necessary permit to remove one of the trees. Finally they helped me to select a replacement tree required by the city. Along the way there were setbacks due to stormy weather and equipment availability, Cal kept me in the loop and provided a revised plan.I higly recommend Davey for any tree work.“
