Alex gave good advice on trees and might have done a very good trimming job, however I ended up pulling out before signing a contract due to inadequate insurance coverage. Alex said he had liability and workers compensation insurance, but it turns out he hires tree trimmers as independent contractors, so workers compensation does not apply. When evidence of workers compensation insurance did not arrive, I followed up and Alex mentioned the independent contractor status. He said he could maybe put together the equivalent of workers compensation insurance for an extra fee. This would have been nice to know in the beginning. These guys were fabulous! Jim came out and listened carefully to what I wanted him to do in our very over-grown back yard. He wore a mask and was careful about distancing...and also made a few excellent suggestions. City Trees promptly sent me an estimate and were very easy to make a date to come over and work. Alex the owner and the work crew arrived on time-all wearing masks--and we again walked through all that they were going to do. The group was focused, polite, and cleaned up all the debris, including a thorough final sweep! They also pruned our trees out front, which was a much more careful and thoughtful job than the one the guys that work for San Francisco do!...read full review
