“It was a pleasure working with Genaro and his crew. I had my roofing redone and a skylight installed. High Mountain construction was always responsive and kept me posted through the process. Here's one of the reasons I went with Genaro. As a registered civil and structural engineer, I deal with general contractors daily as a full-time job. So you can say I have an eye out for lazy contractors. Genaro was the first contractor to arrive out of 5 roofing companies I reached out to. (Note High Mountain does way more than roofing, but my review is limited to this scope). Not only was he the first to arrive, but he was also the first to email me a professional quote. He took a good look and took accurate measurements. Accurate measurements allow him to have a competitive bid. His number came in lower than I had expected and before any other quote came in, I decided to sign him up. After a week, I did have lazy quotes come in and all were higher. My instinct was right about him. My house was built with T&G roof and foam insulation but lacked the plywood on top. (Shocking right!!) This was an obvious change order and as a structural engineer, I knew this was not covered in his original quote. Normally this would be a good opportunity for a huge change order, but his quote for the added service was very reasonable. Once the change order was approved he picked up 40 sheets of plywood within a day and started to install it the next day. Genaro is very price conscious and was willing to drive his truck down the hill to get better pricing. On top of that, I saw a very little delay in the schedule. I could see another contractor saying, "Well Big Bear is out of plywood so it will be another week. We'll come back another time." I was truly amazed at his good work ethic. In addition, Genaro has a big crew that comes to finish a job sooner, but I told him I was good with his timeline. So what is the advantage of having a big crew? Well if it's about to snow in 3 days, better get more people to cover up the roof with black paper! Sure enough, he made it in time for the storm! The inspection went smooth and the roof was completed before the storm. Skylight looks nice! Can't ask for more and will be recommending them to my friends and yes he's a local. I typically do not write a long review but seeing that High Mountain had 0 yelp review, I had to make it count.“

“I had a guest blow out my electrical and it ended up blowing out my pilot light on my wall heater. This happened in winter! So I was freezing I tried turning the pilot light on myself but the button wouldn't work. I called them and someone was out that same day. They then came back the next day to replace the part that was failing. I would recommend them to anyone looking for someone professional, reliable, and communicative. I'm a happy customer.“

“My guests checked into our cabin for a weekend getaway and the thermostat wouldn't go beyond 65 degrees when they arrived. Then, the temperature started going down! Tried to troubleshoot it myself by changing the filter at the register, but it still didn't work (but I was on the right track if you keep reading). They were booked over the weekend and my guests were fine with using a space heater. Mike (the owner) asked me to call first thing Monday morning to see where they can work me into their schedule (I called another company who told me they couldn't respond to my request until another 2 weeks!). Called right when they opened at 8 am and spoke to Tim who said he said he could be out to my cabin in 20 minutes - and he was there within the timeframe he said he would be! It came down to having one too many filters that was restricting the airflow causing the furnace to stop so it can prevent from overheating. In addition, he said the type of filter we used at the hallway register was too restrictive - great for catching dust but could be an issue with getting proper airflow. Had a lot of questions for Tim who was pleasant and very graciously answered all of them. I try to be an informed consumer and I learned a lot! The price was very reasonable for the service call. I was so worried that it was going to be a potentially expensive problem to fix. My fear is always that a company can easily take advantage of the situation and overcharge me for something that could be an easy fix or do work that isn't needed to make that extra buck. Not this company! I am so happy I chose them and they will be on my list of go-to, trusted service vendors.“
