The salon is small but bright and welcoming and the people are equally as bright and welcoming. “You have your stylist. You want them to listen to you, to be kind and friendly and to give you a great haircut and advise you about your hair. I had a good stylist who left and I have long curly hair that I have been letting grow but I was ready for a layering and clean up. I spent about one month cycling through all the reviews and salon websites I could find in the city. Back in the day, I would call a popular salon like Di Pietro and have a conversation with the person answering the phone bc in a hood salon, they know the stylists and help you pick someone but nowadays I don't sense that most salons have the staff or ensure that someone knowledgeable is booking appts. so you are mostly on your own. For me, I found that many salons and stylists had mixed reviews or were outrageous $$$ and if the reviews are not consistently excellent why would you think to spend $$$ After some time, I found David Bui's name and salon and his reviews were all excellent and he also specialized in longer curly/wavy hair so I made an appt and I was so happy I did. I felt welcomed, he listened to me and what I wanted, he was super friendly polite professional and sincere in wanting to make me happy with my haircut. He cut away the poof and have the layers and trim I wanted. Most people want to have a go to stylist they trust and feel comfortable with which is not easy. Many salons have closed so ai think there are people looking for stylists to go to. The salon is in a really nice building, they have street parking right outside and I was able to find parking immediately. They even had some holiday snacks and libations. I left feeling happy with my cut and very comfortable and thats really important to me because I know what I want. David is delightful and did a great job. In case anyone else is out there looking for a new stylist especially if you have long or longer hair and have any kind of wave or curl. Heartfelt thanks to David!“

Since moving to SF, I was struggling to find somewhere to permanently straighten (Japanese straighten) my roots since so many places seemed to have such mixed reviews or were insanely out of my price range (5x more than what I use to pay back home!).
