One of the kindest and sweetest experiences I have had with an animal clinic.
A cat adopted me months ago, and no one claimed her so we became roommates. Soon I moved to a new house here in Two Harbors and she of course came along with me. I found out that she was pregnant and not just a happy chubby sweet girl. She then had kittens (6... I am a grandmother of 6 kittens ?).
Once the community found out I had these sweet babies I started having folks over when they were old enough to see so that they could get used to human touch, different smells and the community as a whole. Some of which decided that they would love to take their special favorites home. I told them that I would reach out when they're old enough and when I got them all fixed. I had been saving up unsure of how much it would cost to get all the kittens plus momma fixed. So I called the Animal Clinic of Catalina. I spoke with Jess and she was so unbelievably kind. She gave me the number of the humane society and I communicated with a woman there. They then told me that they would pay for all of them to get fixed and we had a beautiful moment over the phone and I was teary-eyed and verklempt and completely blown away. So we then kept everyone home until they were 13 weeks old.
Then poppa (my wonderful beau) and I drove all of the kitties through the interior over to Avalon to stay at the clinic in their own sweet little special room for the duration of four days while everyone got fixed.
When the day came that we got to go pick up our babies we went into the office and then into the small room where we saw all of the kittens and momma. So filled with joy and so safe and happy. Jess's niece would visit the kitties every day after school and play with them until closing which I know was a huge help in their comfort (thank you sweet pea ?) Dr. Denny knocked on the door and came in shaking our hands sharing that he had never met such wonderful kittens and that we did such a wonderful job with them which made me giggle and cry again a little.
They gave us a HUGE supply in momma and kitten food to take home with us, we felt supported the whole way through.
This place is truly a precious part of the community, and I'm so grateful to know that they are there helping others and their sweet critters.

We got two individual 2-hour massages and they were some of the best massages we've ever had! Our masseuses, Esther and Barbara, obviously know what they're doing and provided professional, relaxing, and very enjoyable massages. Also, a special thanks to Trecia for helping to get our massages booked short notice and for a professional check-in/out experience. Highly recommend Catalina Sea Spa ... we'll definitely be back for more massages during our next visit to Catalina.
We just checked out after a truly wonderful stay at the Hotel Metropole and what a great experience it was. From the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of both Sheila and Yoli by phone who caringly assisted with our reservation, to Vanessa and Cody at the front desk, our stay was fabulous from start to finish. We also appreciated the many thoughtful little details at the Metropole, items which included luxury aromatherapy body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and the added charging ports at both nightstands. The entire facility was very clean and showed impeccable attention to detail, and the rooftop lounge with a hot tub and patio furniture was well laid out. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean, and the down pillows were some of the best we’ve experienced. The included breakfast featured bagels, a variety of pastry options, Chobani yogurt, and a selection of bananas, tangerines and more. One detail which really stood out to us was just how wildly attentive the entire staff was to any need. As one example, I had forgotten to pack shaving cream and had commented to my wife just outside the elevator that perhaps I should run to Vons to purchase some. Within possibly three seconds, Vanessa at the front counter was running to us at the elevator with a three pack of shaving cream and saying she had overheard my comment and wanted to offer me what I needed! We are in the hospitality business here on the island and are experienced in what’s important to guests, and the Metropole truly delivered! 5.0 stars!
